Been a fan since my dad took me to the Orange Bowl in 1983 to watch us beat Purdue 35-0. I was hooked. A few months later I got to watch us win our fist championship. (Well, woke up my dad early the next morning and made him tell me, my mom made me go to bed at halftime).

Every year since, every time we've played for the championship, I expected it at the start of the season. This year I didn't think we'd get this far. I expected 10 wins and maybe a playoff berth, maybe if things went really well, a playoff win. But this... This i did not expect. And I can't quite get my head around it.

The good thing is since I wasn't expecting this, it's all gravy from here. Mario brought the program back to its elite status, and think he's set it up to be that way for years to come.

No matter what happens tomorrow it's been a **** of a ride. This is one of my favorite Canes teams, recency bias aside. Love these guys and would lose it if they can raise the trophy tomorrow night but I love this team regardless.

Anyone else kind of feel emotionally/psychologically unprepared for this?

Picture of my partner in the orange and green miniskirt I got her for Christmas for tax.

Go Canes.

Once we got in playoffs we were playing with house money. But once we got to the championship that changed. Now I have an expectation they should win. Will they? We will find out. My only hope is they play to the best of their abilities and don’t hand Indiana the game as so many teams have. If Indiana wins it better be because Mendoza went Air Jordan on us, and not because we weren’t ready for moment. That I can accept. But a win, yah I am not mentally ready to know what that will feel like. And that’s a beautiful thing.
