Not going to engage in typical CIS self-abuse, but here’s something to feel GRRRREAT about

I’m not really a cat person but my wife is. The person I knew that got bit, it was a cat that ran off. Literally a feral/stray cat that was in a convenience store parking lot. This person tried to help it, and got bit.

Our advice was for them to go to straight to the emergency room, and do whatever they say, but I was thinking there was no way that this person wasn’t going to get a rabies shot. That’s exactly what happened. It’s not one shot it’s several shots over a couple or three weeks.

When they don’t know for certain or can't reasonably infer, as what happened in your case, I don’t think there’s any choice you have to get the rabies shot. Obviously in your case, there was a lot more information from which to make a decision. but otherwise, even though it might even be 100,000 to 1 shot, better to be safe than sorry, people do die from rabies.
There is no cure for Rabies, i was advised to keep him in the garage for 5 days, my doctor said the shots are very uncomfortable.
I live in Broward, & this is the first summer, that there was no Rabies Alerts..
