Not enough good coaches on the market this year

there will not be any changes till we get a new President.... then maybe a new AD and Coach
new President gives Butch a shot..... if he is wise he has some allies who are BOT or know them and can start selling himself via
this group....

Kiffin would be a huge gamble.

What major football team has he ever coached to success? Does anyone remember his departure from Tennessee?

FFS

He left to go to USC. Miami is USC of the east coast.

Just stop talking, please.

I thought Miami raised their requirements, apparently I wouldn't get in today.

Only astronauts can get into Miami.

By AD, I meant athletic deparment as a whole, not Blake James. And this is a combo of what has been going around, and what I have personally heard from someone that works inside the department (that Kiffin is at/neat the top).
No success? Shiano made it to HC in NFL, Much harder than becoming a HC in college, and much harder to be successful. Kiffin I don't really like, but he is young, and if you don't believe his resume is being extremely boosted by being Bama's OC, you are delusional. Ditto for Cristobal. I don't want Cristobal at all, and I didn't say that I did. Kiffin Is having success right now. Like I said, I think Kiffin will only be successful as a HC if he brings in a good DC with him
.

You still have no source for the atheltic department wanted those guys.

Schiano, failed in the NFL and has never won the big east. He blows.

Kiffin has had no success either. He sucked in the NFL, Tenn and with USC. Sure he is young but who cares? He sucks as an HC. There is no evidence he will have success either because he has NEVER had much success as an HC. There is a reason no one WAS calling his name after he was fired from USC. He had to take an OC gig, he will have to be there for awhile before he gets another chance.

Cristobal has never been a coordinator and has had ZERO success. He has had less success than Kiffin and Schiano. He is terrible.

I said where I got my info. I said I know someone inside the athletic deparment, and he happened to tell me this in a casual conversation. You can choose to not believe me, but that's where I got it. And it happens to fall in line with what some others are also hearing.
You do understand Not succeeding in the NFL doesn't matter. what matters is that he was good enough to get a NFL HC job. Golden would have nowhere near the resume to get that. If you think just anyone can become a NFL HC you are just plain wrong. Lane Kiffin, is proving what he can do right now at Alabama. I can't even believe I'm defending Lane Kiffin, I don't even like him (I'm a Raider fan). But You are a fool if you don't think that this year/next year he won't be one of the more saught after coaches, Whether he actually leaves or stays (like Kirby Smart). Kiffin is one of the best recruiters there is though. If he was hired right now, I would guarantee that we would have the #1 or #2 recruiting class in 2016. And again, I don't want Cristobal, but that doesn't matter to the BOT or AD does it?

Who do you know? A ticket broker.

Oh, so failing in the NFL is okay then? Retarded Logic #1

Oh, so having a better resume then Golden means you should get a job at Miami? Correct, not anyone can become an NFL HC. But if you FAILED in the NFL, FAILED at USC, FAILED at Tennessee...you didn't just fail in the NFL. You failed everytime you were the head coach. Retarded Logic #2

What is he proving? That he is a good OC? Great let him be an OC. Let another program take a chance at him at HC. We need a proven winner. Not a **** who failed every time he has been HC. One year as an OC under Saban means nothing to anyone with a brain. I don't care if anyone takes a chance on him, if he comes here NOW, he will fail too because of his track record. Retarded Logic #3

What is saught BTW?

Kiffin is one of the best recruiters there is though. If he was hired right now, I would guarantee that we would have the #1 or #2 recruiting class in 2016. And again, I don't want Cristobal, but that doesn't matter to the BOT or AD does it?

NEWSFLASH recruiting is not the issue. It is the coaching. The coaching has been chit for a long ***ing time. Only a total potato would be concerned about 2016 recruiting when we can't win in 2015 or 2016 with Kiffin. Why? Because Kiffin (at USC) has always had more talent then the Competition....he just blow cack at coaching it.

Retarded Logic #4

Please stop. It's finals, go study.

I would have left Tennessee to go to USC too. Not a crazy thing to do.
I wish this board was Tennessee to you and a grease fire was your USC. Your posts in this thread are amongst the worst on this board.

I doubt you would.

Did you have a hard on as you typed this gem?

You left out he is a potato too.

I know it probably won't happen, but I'd bring back Butch so he could finish what he started.

To warrant the buy out of Golden. I'd be furious with either Mcelwain or Riley as our coach. Golden sucks donkey **** but I want a proven winner. Miami can't take chances on coaches like these going forward.

That's because Eichorst is validating he is an idiot. Plus, I'm starting to question Jeremy Foley at least picking football coaches. As I've said before I think Bernie Machen had more to do with the Urban Meyer hiring than Foley.

I wouldn't worrying about the replacement until the trigger is pulled.

-Nick Saban, Pete Carroll, Steve Spurrier, BUTCH DAVIS, DENNIS ERICKSON, Bobby Petrino.
-Holy **** do you even read what I wrote! I said I don't even like Lane Kiffin! I said that he is one of the top candidates right now, and the reasons the school would have to hire him. Holy ****, it isn't hard to grasp. And it is a plain fact he is a top recruiter, and that being the OC at Bama will get him a job at a top school, including potentially here.
-Obviously I meant sought. Didn't know this was a paper I was turning in and needed perfect spelling while typing on my phone.
-Recruiting is one of the many issues EVERYONE complains about Golden for. Mainly concerning who he chooses to/not to recruit. That is again a fact.
-Literally the only thing that you have an argument for AT ALL, is whether you think I'm making up that kiffin and Cristobal are at or near the top of the list for potential coaching candidates. That is your choice, but your entire argument had almost nothing to do with what I said. Regarding Kiffin, I literally said, "I don't even like him (I'm a Raider fan)." And the only thing I said about him is that he is one helluva recruiter.
-The only thing that was retarded was what you were arguing about. If you want to argue about the Guys I actually want here (Narduzzi or Chud) go ahead. But I just don't get why you are saying I have retarded logic in saying Kiffin is a potential candidate. Is it so hard to imagine the BOT/AD/President or whoever would hire someone you don't like?

For as "smart" as these new-era students are, they are pretty ****ing stupid.

Please enlighten me on how my post was stupid.
Was it the fact I stated Kiffin and Cristobal are candidates for the job?
Was it the fact I said I don't even like Kiffin, but it is inarguable that he is a top notch recruiter?
Was it the fact I said Kiffin is going to be sought after, especially after doing really well as OC under Nick Saban?
Was it the fact I am not so deluded that I can look past Butch Davis for potential candidates, even though I said I'd like him to be a coach here in some capacity?
Was it the fact that I said AND PROVED that NFL failure doesn't matter at the college level?
Please, tell me what exactly was stupid. Or is it just stupid because you personally don't want it to be true?

1. I said that simply coaching and failing in the NFL was not enough. Reading Comprehension, please!

Saban had success before the NFL as did Spurier. Pete Carroll made the playoffs 2/4 years. Davis, Erickson and Petrino ALL had success before the NFL as well. Do you see all these guys had SUCCESS in some form or fashion before. Kiffin has had NONE. NONE. NO ***ING SUCCESS. He just FAILED everywhere. These guys are not the same because Kiffin has ONLY failed and those guys have had success in some form before.

2. Kiffin isn't a top candidate. Not by any serious team. We will see the HC job Kiffing gets this season. Let's see what top school comes calling NOW. We will see. He has FAILED at every coaching spot as a HC. He isn't similar to any of those names you dropped

3. You can type like and say whatever you want. I only typed that because "you doubted I would get into Miami today."

4. Recruiting is only part of the problem. Development and coaching is the bigger problem, all things Kiffin failed at. Do you get this or no?

5. I don't care who you want here. I commented on those 3 retarded names you brought up.

1. You're original argument for NFL failure was against Schiano, not Kiffin. No **** the coaches had success before the NFL, how do you think they earned the NFL HC job. They still weren't very good in the NFL. How is that different than Schiano? Kiffin was Also successful before going to the Raiders (was only an OC at USC before he got hired).
2. You won't really know how many schools call and inquire about Kiffin. If he doesn't become a HC this year that doesn't mean anything. By that logic the exact same things could be said about Scott Frost, Pat Narduzzi, Kirby Smart, etc, when all those guys could get at least a good (maybe not top) HC position right now, but they still might not leave.
3. You kept on saying I thought UM raised its requirements, implying I was stupid. And You said "apparently I wouldn't get in today"
4. HOLY ****. Again, your only argument is about something I'm not even disagreeing with! And you are talking to me about reading comprehension. I didn't say recruiting was more important than actual coaching. I was merely stating one positive that hiring Kiffin would bring. DO YOU GET THIS????
5. How is it retarded that I brought them up, because they are names that are available, and ARE potential candidates. It doesn't matter if Me or You think they wouldn't be good fits, it's what the BOT is going to do, and clearly they have shown they don't make good decisions.
WOW. What I'm saying must be going completely over your head.

WOW. What I'm saying must be going completely over your head.

1. Is irrelevant as it applies to both. Schiano nor Kiffin deserved an NFL gig. Kiffin had no HC experience and Schiano had no success. Both were gambles and both failed.

2. I don't give a *** if anyone inquires about Kiffin. I only care that we don't because he sucks and is a failure. Simple as that. You can keep defending Kiffin because you're a dolt and digging those heels in but he sucks. I have no comment on Frost, Narduzzi etc because I only commented on your retarded 3 you named in your first post a long time ago. It was dumb then (Schiano, Kiffin and Cristobal) and dumb now. I

3. I was being sarcastic. Your handle implies your a student and I was merely stating that I thought UM was bringing in better students. I was wrong.

4. I'm only commenting on those 3 names. If you agree, just say you agree and move on. Kiffin has so many knocks on him that his recruiting won't be able to overcome. Again, he sucked at USC and he had more talent than anyone he faced.

5. I don't care if there available. Lou Holtz is available, does anyone bring him up? How about Bob Davie? There both available. Being available doesn't mean much other then you're unemployed.

6. The BOT blows, great point. Kudos we agree.

Go study for finals big man. Take a break.
