Not Dawson’s first rodeo

Dawsons run scheme is not his own. My biggest complaint is he doesn’t use all his tools/personnel to his advantage. But the biggest issue is the red zone offense. It’s bad and it’s been bad.
 
Even with everything we did wrong, the clock management on the last drive specifically when not getting 1st downs under 2mins then rushing the pass the INT has me more upset. We had momentum for the first time all game with a chance to win. Mario still can’t handle the clock!

Had we called TOs after CJs and Toney’s two catches we are at 1:20ish with one time out on the 30. Do that and we actually could call run plays or pass plays to hold the LBers in check. Just so many things to be disappointed by but Mario’s claim of hiring a clock/to manager is BS!

I try to put myself in Mario's simple-minded self shoes and try to find logic in his actions.

Why consistently run in between the tackles?

Fewer chances of a hold? I mean, we get penalized 10x a game, so this can't be it

Exert our dominance with our big boys? We ran for 60-something yards, so that didn't work

Keep our OL from having to run outside zone so they don't get tired? I wouldn't put it past him

TuFf N PhYsIcal no matter what? There's a plan A and nothing else. I mean, it works on 4th and 1, but that's it

I honestly can't figure out why we can't be more creative, but they need to figure it out before we lose another game we are favored to win by 10+ points.

That’s how good this team actually should be if we just cut down the mistakes

Unfortunately the mistakes just go with the staff

I agree the one yard runs up the middle are a problem but it’s really focusing on the wrong issue

And most of the penalties come from his unit

Last year Georgia had zero running game. Beck was an interception machine. If we can’t run the ball we will lose a lot more games. They have to change the scheme. Running up the middle every fkn time is not working. Repeating the same thing over and over is the definition of insanity. It’s maddening watching them keep trying to do this over and over.
