Not buying the lingard news...

It was Bethune. They knew 100% they would not need him. Why bother, AT ALL? No sense in dressing for a game you know you won't play in. He got a concussion, so why even consider playing him in a game he isn't needed in? Jeez, we have some over reactions here.
Why bother at all? It’s the perfect game to get him reps in the new offense.

Instead he will jump right in against VT.

I don’t doubt he’s back this week, but you don’t get banged up in practice in the middle of the week and then don’t or can’t be on the sidelines for the game but you’re good to go for next week?

So the injury was severe enough that protocol dictated he not dress but he’s now good enough to this week?
I heard it was a concussion. So, maybe he didn’t want to be out in the Sun and heat?

Kinda thought that too...But it was bethune cookman, and let's just say it was a mild hammy, a tweak...etc, etc...In the same leg as injury? Even the mildest off of his surgery is no reason to risk vs. Bethune

Evidently YES.....am I'm glad he's finally back

What is the need for some of you to see Lingard carry the ball against Bethune? Quite Frankly, great call by the staff. Lingard has been injured, obviously a great talent but he isn't better than DJ or CamRon currently. He will have his time. Cream rises

...yes which is very common. You see players sit out for a week for concussions all the time. When you have a concussion, it’s a serious protocol and you can’t play til your headache and other symptoms go away. Sounds like he had a minor concussion which explains why he needed a week off.
Are headaches usually or always the sign if a concussion? I used to get headaches a lot after football practice. Never said anything about it, just went back to practice the next day. Never heard anything about concussion protocols back then, in fact, never heard of any guys getting held out for concussions or headaches. Teammates were held out for different reasons, dislocated shoulders, broken collarbones, knee injuries, I guess, but don't remember headaches or concussions. Headaches? Just take some aspirin and get back out there.

This was a long time ago. Wonder if I had concussions and didn't know it. I started to develop migraines around the age of 20. Had them for years.

I'm talking mid '60's. Didn't have CT scans, MRIs and nobody suggested the headaches were the sign of something worse. Now I wonder.

Are there carries for lingard? With DJ running the way he is and Cam is a straight up stud. That’s 20 carries between those two. Jarren throwing 25 + a game.

That’s why I would think they would try to get him in against CMU at the very least 4th quarter.

0 issue with being careful with a player whether it's Bethune or UF. This is his head and his life its not a hangnail. Perspective

Yeah I’m not talking about being dressed out ready to play in uniform, I believe he wasn’t even on the sidelines. You guys missed the point. It’s not about him not dressed out in uniform, it’s about him not being at the game.

Have you ever had a concussion?

Sensitivity to light and painful headaches to the point where you can't tolerate being outside are common symptoms. Also you don't want someone who is concussed on the sidelines period. Collisions happen all the time with players going out of bounds towards guys on the bench.
