Serious question. What is it that I’m supposed to be rustled about?
I’d avoid being rustled in general. There is no need for such negativity in your life.
But if you choose to be rustled, I don’t think FSU is worth the effort… a good Miami takes care of itself… focus within, you may find what you are looking for…
I see 3 loses at the most. The FSU hype. Some midsummer preseason rankings have them as high as #3 (what?). Other media outlets are saying they’re a CFP contender with Jordan Travis on Heisman watch. While I respectfully admit they had a good season in 2022 and acknowledge the returning talent, nothing suggests they’ll be better than a program like Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, or Michigan in 2023.
I wouldn’t even put them in the preseason top 10, and CFP contenders? They open against LSU who will be looking to avenge an early season loss last year. This game is a tossup. A loss essentially kills any CFP hopes for either team as I highly doubt FSU or LSU run the table after their opener. FSU still has to dethrone Clemson from the top of the ACC. Noles haven’t beat Clemson in nearly a decade. Maybe an improved Miami team can get in their way. Winning in the Swamp is never easy.
I easily see 3 or 4 losses on their 2023 schedule. Looking back at 2022, there are 0 quality wins outside of LSU. So where’s all the hype coming from? Not just questioning it because I’m an opposing fan.

They remind me more of our 2017 team. They got a lot of lucky bounces and had good injury luck (unfortunately, our 2017 team run out of injury luck late in the season).Their season last year is similar to ours in 2021 in that we were as close to 4 more losses than we were wins. FSU had around 5 wins in one score games and barely beat a garbage Oklahoma team in their bowl.
Now they probably won’t drop off like we did with the coaching changes/botch job we had last year because they at least have consistency going for them but I don’t see a CFPB/top 5 squad.
Both TVD and Jordan went on runs. Won some close games. Reality set back in the following year.
Plus, they aren’t recruiting well enough to keep it going. They’ll continue to be just good enough by relying on the portal. A full championship roster won’t be possible without recruiting well in addition to portal FAs.
Last year was their 2017 version of us. We even start the next season with the same opening opponent and I think it ends for them the same way it did for us.
See what I mean @RVACane ...I was telling you this dude is a *******@Dr.L.ThugU is a glitter boy that doesn’t even lift. But he told me that Miami fans better believe the hype.. The fact that he’s a glitter boy and a ladyboy lover, I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about.

It amazes me that we have the full to talk down to FSU after getting curbed stomp. Make it make sense. I hope we're 500 tbh. I never liked Mario when we could of had Lincoln, or at least a big name as OC that took forever to get the job filled.Hard to read this post and not think back a couple short years ago about FSU being a "Dumpster Fire" and the Canes being in the driver's seat.

I’ll always maintain to this day that our 2017 team would’ve been 11-0 and given a better fight to Clemson had 1) Malik not gotten injured, 2) AR82 not gotten injured, 3) Herndon not going down. Really changed our season when that all happened.I won't quite say that Florida State 2023 will be Miami 2018.... but I will say that the 2017 version of the Seminoles reminded me a lot of the fugazi that was the 2017 Hurricanes and that matching paper 10-3 record.
And at least Miami knocked off #3 Notre Dame and #13 Virginia Tech that season. Florida State literally didn't beat a ranked team in 2022—losing to #22 Wake Forest, #14 North Carolina State and #4 Clemson—while beating Duquesne, LSU (in their opener before they found their legs), Louisiana and a 6-6 Oklahoma team in a third-tier bowl game.
The Noles also didn't even win the Atlantic and reach the ACC title game.
One big play from Richards wins is the Pitt game and then you roll the dice in the ACCCG.I’ll always maintain to this day that our 2017 team would’ve been 11-0 and given a better fight to Clemson had 1) Malik not gotten injured, 2) AR82 not gotten injured, 3) Herndon not going down. That’s a good comparison that I almost made, 2022 FSU being similar to our 2017 team. We had a bunch of guys coming back for 2018 and there was reason to be optimistic. Rosier wasn’t the same player in 2018 and our weaknesses on offense were really exposed. Is Travis as good as people think he is? I’ll say he’s better than Rosier but I’m not sure that says a whole lot.I won't quite say that Florida State 2023 will be Miami 2018.... but I will say that the 2017 version of the Seminoles reminded me a lot of the fugazi that was the 2017 Hurricanes and that matching paper 10-3 record.

Well, I don't think anyone predicted Jordan Travis going from the guy that couldn't beat out a one-legged McKenzie Milton and who was constantly making knuckle-headed decisions into a legitimate Heisman contender. I mean, finally, because the dude has been in college for like 8 years. But anyways, it shows you what good QB play can do to your team/program. I think FSU ought to enjoy this year because once Travis moves on, I think they're gonna come back down.Hard to read this post and not think back a couple short years ago about FSU being a "Dumpster Fire" and the Canes being in the driver's seat.
