Not believing the hype

We beat a terrible team like we're supposed to beat a terrible team. Had this been a death struggle it'd be a different story.

God forbid we enjoy a win. Bunch of ****ing mopes.

It was a decent win against a crappy team. That might make you feel good, doesn't mean the rest of us will get down and suck off golden like you would.

We just blew out a team that has had our number for more than a decade.

A team who was bad last year too... ... and we found a way to lose to them at home.

This time around we completely dominate them. We should be happy.

We completely dominated them two years ago. What the **** are you talking about?

kaaya looked like ****. less than 50% completions....

If you think Kaaya looked like ****, then you know **** about football. Even your fellow haters won't back you on this one, most have already stated how well he played.

How about some context?

We went in to Virginia Tech and beat one of our rivals. We dominated them offensively and defensively. We altered the scheme and played a more traditional version of our defenses. When we have done that, the defense does look top 25 caliber.

VT is bad and downright horrendous offensively. Brewer is not even a Kirby Freeman/Kyle Wright level QB, but it really doesn't matter. We blew them out from start to finish and they are a D1 team with a victory over Ohio State at Ohio State. It's as complete a win under Golden that we have ever had. There's pieces to be optimistic over. If the staff can show a final willingness to make changes, maybe they have finally learned their lesson. I know this was exactly what we fell for against Duke, but this is VT and that's a different animal.

I'm skeptical, as all of us should be, but this gives me at least a glimmer of hope that may very well blow up in my face but it's something.

North Carolina will have a similar caliber of athlete to us. Let's see how they do against a team like that.

Never thought id say this agree 10000%

Your analysis is ****.

did you even watch? When thr announcers are saying what touch despite drops you might want to listen. There are maybe 10 qb's in all of college football that make those two passes and reads to Duke with that pressure on the first one.

kaaya is just not that great of a QB
I assume the analysts that were calling the game are a bunch of dopes then. Dude you have no clue about the game of Football and what this kid can potentially become, not Good but Great.

they kept calling Duke Johnson....Duke Williams....
I know, they meant Gus Williams.

Something seemed different about this team. They played a different style of swagger they haven't had I don't know how long. They manhandled this team. I mean pushed them around and did what they wanted. And say all you want but they had 1 yard rushing at half time. 1. The offense killed their d line. I mean murdered them. This team has 3 legit backs. And the defense flew around tonight. Just watching this game Miami played grown man football all game (or at least until the last drive). If they can replicate this performance on offense watch out.

The Canes played tonight like they have been getting beat every year Golden's been here. Run, run and run some more. Guess Golden and co decided if we get our *** kicked from letting the other team run it down our throats we should try that same approach. Lol whatever gets the W. Time for the canes to get bowl eligibility next week vs UNC

You and I disagree on pretty much 114% of topics but I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and pretend I didn't see a lot of encouraging evidence for the future.

They changed the defense again and it yielded some impressive positives. They did it against a **** offense that couldn't get out of their own way but VT is still a major team. If the coaches let them do this every game, we would finally be that top 25 defense you speak of.

Offensively, Coley went to the run game and stayed with the run game. I'm a big believer that if something is working, you keep doing it until the other team stops it and VT couldn't. That's the best Duke Johnson performance thus far and it was against a better than average defense. We threw the ball 16 times and if Phillip wasn't busy looking for butterflies he would have had a 98 yard TD catch. The O-line positively dominated and they may be finally materializing as a strength at long last.

This game showed all the evidence of being a turning point. So did the Duke game and we promptly **** the bed against a **** poor GT team. One game doesn't undo 3 and a half season of upsetting futility. I fell for a banana in the tailpipe trick once and I'm not doing it again. But now we move on to UNC, an elite offense with a level of athlete somewhat similar to our own. They put up 43 on an excellent Notre Dame defense at Notre Dame. Let's see if our coaching staff has found some courage and they keep the aggression going. If they can hold UNC down to an impressive number, say 20-23 points, maybe the staff has finally turned the corner.

My opinion of the staff as deserving of being fired hasn't changed. If they can string together wins against the bulk of our schedule, then who knows.

FWIW, I didn't see much change in the defense. Anyone what to point out specific details?

I'm happy with the win, maybe the best performance under Golden. Still, this is a terrible VTech team and I still saw the same schematic problems with the defense. Tech's offense is just horrendously bad and couldn't exploits it. And when they did right out of half time, they gave the ball to us 3 times. That 3rd quarter was ugly defensively outside the TOs.

We still can't generate a pass rush. We still don't get penetration in the run game. We still play a lot of the soft zone that is a simple pitch and catch for competent QBs.

this was a horrible VT team.....but then again, every team in the Coastal is relatively horrible. VT beat UNC in chapel hill a couple of weeks back.

the moral of the story is....WE SHOULD BE DOING THIS ALL THE TIME AGAINST COASTAL OPPONENTS! Zero division titles to show thus far.

PREACH

Canes hadn't won @ VagTech since 2005 and this is 4th time we beat em since 2002. They've owned us.
And it's a celebration anytime we beat our rival. F their record. I just wish we shut em out.

1. VT sucks

2. They did the same thing against Duke and Dorito went back to being Dorito against GT

3. Lets see them look competent against the UNC offense

I ain't falling for this **** again mane, it's still **** Golden and his friend until further notice

Duke is awesome though

we still aren't good..but man was it nice to come out and dominate

I'm buying all the way in. I'm going to ignore everything I've seen over these 4 years because we just curb stomped mighty VT.

Hail Al! I will celebrate this like we just won the NC because it's tough to win football games. This was that pesky corner we've been waiting to turn.

D'Ominant!

Just a little note: Miami has held every opponent so far this season to less than the opponent is averaging in total offense. Take that FWIW, but it is true.

Nice to get the win, but VT is awful, finish 9-3 and then come talk to me.

THIS...

Love the Fact that last Night we Showed that we Can be that team that Dominates on both Side of the Ball. Even though the VT was Bad bad bad.
There is absolutely NO GOOD **** reason that this type of Play wasn't to be expected vs. LOU/NEB/GT. NO REASON.....

Play like this from here out and we get to play FSU 2x.... maybe
