Not A Single One Of Us

i think he had another 5-6 years in him and maybe a natty if he made the right OC hire.

he was unwilling to do that and did the RIGHT thing and retired, going out on his own time.

thanks mark richt for 2017. something we hadn't had in 15 years, a 10 win season

I'm gonna agree as well. I redact a majority of the bad things I've said about Mark Richt and will stop calling him Mork.

Props, mr. Richt

Went 2-1 against FSU (should have been 3-0 if it wasn’t for the block kick or Berrios trip up)

2-1 vs Virginia tech

Demolished Notre Dame

10 win season

Ended our Bowl Game drought beat WVU

Tough, adult call he made.
We all thought he was too stubborn, greedy to 'walk away from $4Mil/yr' and that's what he just did (unless something comes up that proves those retirement/buyout rumors true) barring that...Thanks for everything Mark

Much respect.

Let’s not forget that about 13 months ago we were ranked #2. Things fell apart fast and Richt did not milk it like most coaches would.

He’d of made a better AD than HC at this point in his career.

Got a shtload of stuff done here and we all should be appreciative of his work to get th IPF belt.

Having a hal·le·lu·jah moment with Richt today. He absolutely did the right thing for himself, his family, and the U!

This is the classiest thing I have ever seen a coach do. It turns out Mark Ritch was Cane to the core. He might have failed but is worthy of every ounce of respect it is ours to muster. He leaves bathed in our colors as family in the finest respect.
very well said! I agree 1000% with you

Should ever utter a bad word about Mark Richt.

He came here, helped get a lot of things done. Once it became apparent to him that the game has passed him by and he wasn’t capable of performing at a level that warranted his contract, he retired.

Instead of hanging around and stealing money, forcing banners to fly, turning the program into a toxic state of disarray, he looked in the mirror and admitted to himself that he can’t cut it anymore and left.

He just saved us 2 years and a much bigger hole to rebuild out of for this one. Thanks to Mark Richt for manning up and doing the right thing.
Great post

Great post OP. Agree 100%.

Unfortunately, you can't shake idiots like this one out of our fan base.

Funny how my post offended everyone and now I am an idiot? All I was saying is that I would like to know the details first before I place Richt on a pedestal. :noidea:

It's the snarkyness that makes you look like an idiot, bud, the day Richt does the right thing and what is in the best interest of the program. Being salty all the time isn't an appealing quality to others. You'll learn that one day.

Agreed. I have to respect the man for walking away like he did. Looking at that post game presser, there was no way he could get it back. I’m sure he’s touched countless lives in his career and many who have known him are much the better for it.

Word. Most would have forced the school to make a decision and collected loads of cash. Richt, for all of his coaching deficiencies we saw the last three years, helped us improve facilities and, in the end, proved he's a better and more honorable man than most.
