Not a fumble.

exactly right ... but even with the fumble, there is NO F-ing way that Tech should have gone 75 yards in 25 seconds and scored for the win.
Funny, watching the game I told my son we were one DB trip from a loss. And it happened.

Our secondary reverted to last season's lack of discipline on those two plays. Both times players trying to be heroes rather than playing their assignment.

So many things had to go wrong at the very end for us to lose. And they all did. Every. Single. One.
yep yep.gif

Man, it's so mind blowing that we had 99.9% chance to win that game in the final 30+ seconds, only to end up losing. Like you said, several things had to happen at the very end for us to lose. It's like there was divine intervention to make us lose the game.
A loss 3 standard deviations from the mean. Statistically speaking, quite impressive.

We're a cursed program. You can bring in the best coaches in the world and the outcome would still be the same. We must be paying for our sins in the past...whatever those are. Ever since that mother ****** Porter threw that flag in Tempe, this program has been cursed.
Razing the OB. The Football Gods are not happy.

It takes a special kind of thinking to blame our ineptitude on the refs. Like blaming the wind, the grass height and the global warming.

It wasn't a fumble, it was beyond obvious. That said, it shouldn't have come down to that in the first place. Mario KNEW that these refs were obviously trying to help GT. Mario didn't have a feel for the game and combined with his obvious inability to do simple math, led to disaster. As a coach, you should understand that an ugly win, no matter how you get there is better than stupid, shallow accomplishments. Miami had this game WON and Mario managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He deserves all the heat from this one, and honestly, I think that he and TVD should be in the fire together. How does the QB not know the situation? Check out of the play, and take a knee.

a lot of fans are focused on the decision not to take a knee, or whether Chaney was down and the fumble call was wrong.

here is the important thing ..... Georgia Tech had to go 75 yards with less than 25 seconds remaining to get a TD for a win ..... and THEY SUCCEEDED !!!

THAT is what people should be thinking about
So we are supposed to separate the corn from the peanuts in the shiitt stew that was served last night and determine which stunk worse? Nah. Plenty of **** nuggets to pass around with dipping sauce to spare. All leaves the same taste in your mouth.

It's an obviously blown call, one that shouldn't have been needed. Two things can be true at the same time. The refs made it clear throughout the game that they had a vested interest in GT winning the game, and they behaved accordingly. There's no way that a neutral observer could come to any other conclusion. There's incompetent and there's "We're going to F someone over tonight" calls, and this was the latter. It reminds me of when Angel Hernandez gets chewed out by a manager for blowing a call, and he makes it a point to ***** that team over the rest of the game.

Lance Guidry decided to join the **** show brigade the final 25 seconds as well apparently. He was like, "Oh you losers don't want to take a knee"? "Hold my beer, I got the finishing touches for this corch fest"!

It's Lance's fault that Couch missed a pick, and Kam bit on a double move? The Miami D held GT in check for most of the game, there's no way you should lose a game when the D plays that well. Whenever I think our dumbass fans can't get any lower, someone comes along to prove me wrong. Congrats.

The problem was to put a team into position where a bad call fcuked you. Because why? Because you know we get bad calls. If you don’t prepare for that, it’s twice as stupid. Nobody to blame but Mario.

global warming

Warmer ocean temperatures have led to more precipitation than usual. The ball was slippery from all the rain.

Order of responsibility for the loss

1. Global warming
2. Cristobal
3. Dawson
4. Chaney
5. Refs
6. Guidry

Wrong!

There are a lot of reason for the loss. There are several individuals plays that if they turned out differently, we get the win. But despite all that, we had the win as long as we don't fumble the snap and take a knee. There's no avoiding it.

of course it is, he is the DC no? He is to blame just as everyone else. He doesn't get a pass

Doesn't matter if it was or was not a fumble. The team should have never been in that position to begin with and you never leave it in the refs hands.
