Non bias opinion

Losing McFarland was a blow. our inability to finish is alarming. UF &a FSU always have great NSD's. Miami's is always lackluster & unfulfilling.

You mean UF loading up on project corners? And completely disregard all other positions of needs

11 DB's taken in 2016 and 2017...

I argued with a UF fan yesterday, he was saying the whole DBU bull sh¡t then when i brought up other positions of need they didnt get he went completely silent LMAO

JJ>Thomas>Smith

Smith has to be lowest because he is a moron to sign with Bama. He wil catch 15 balls... in his career there.

Sorry, I'm influenced by consensus. Jeudy was heads up the best receiver in the country. Everyone wanted him and we got close. Thankful as heck for Thomas and he will get the job done if he qualifies. I didn't follow Smith that much as I didn't think he was in play except on our boards.

Based on who we actually pulled and knowing what you know now, would you guys still have preferred to have Jeudy or Smith over J. Thomas or perhaps even someone else I forgot to mention? IMO I would take Thomas and glad we were able to land him. I think without his grade problems in the past, he would've been a 5 star. One of the best receivers we've been able to pull in years. Smith graded higher was a crime. Wasn't exactly sure where to post, but was just looking for input from the more veteran guys in crootin

Thomas and Jeudy a wash Smith is below. I like Thomas more, his whole demeanor reminds me of your typical Dade-County Baller from MNW Central CC BTW etc that's toughness and swag you just can't teach. He has the Skill in dog in him no doubt he'll be mentioned with the Canes Great receivers as long as he stays out of trouble.

Non biased opinion? As pure wide receivers I would rank them:

1. Jeudy
2. Smith
3. Thomas

But, we already have Richards as the #1 WR, so for Miami...the list changes from "Whose the best WR" to "Who can give us what we need".
I think we all can agree that right now our offense has a "Need for Speed". We also need a spark in the special teams (Hopefully Richt doesn't throw another Malcolm Lewis at Return Specialist). When you factor in the needs of the offense, and team as a whole, the list can be flipped.

Fastest, most dynamic player who can be a threat if he touches the ball would be:

1. Thomas
2. Smith
3. Jeudy

How you rank them solely depends on what you're asking.

Who would I rather have for this current Miami offense?

Thomas > Jeudy > Smith

Who would I rather have in this recruiting class?

Jeudy, because when it's all said and done, this trend of south florida WR's thinking that "all the best ones go to Bama" need to stop. Getting Jeudy (knowing how bad Saban wanted him) would have been huge for now and the long run IMO.

extremely well said.

let me only add, i think we're all sleeping a little bit on evidence. myself included. i understand why, but he's got the potential to be absolutely elite.

You can't teach what Thomas does well. Elite speed and quickness is why you work out everyday in the offseason. Thomas already has that. He's a good route runner to boot. We got a steal. I agree with the aforementioned post.

Thomas>Jeudy>Holliman>>>Smith

Nobody's film looks better than Thomas.. Jeudy may have elite potential but his game film is far behind Thomas, just look at the UA game and you will see Jeudy barely able to create separation while Thomas was running circles around them boys.

this inability to finish thing is getting out of hand. first off In last week we landed Harley, Thomas, Herbert, we lost McFarland, Henderson and Edwards both had decommited a while ago and except for a couple days were considered florida gets for most of the last month,

smith was a homerun shot but we missed, this team landed 3 excellent players as well as dean in the last week, so that's not an inability to close without that close our wr depth is downright dreadful and while our oline class would still be great getting Herbert made it go from an a to an a+ at oline.

I would have liked another DT on roster given we may lose one or two to the draft after next season.

RB is a miss, I think losing Macfarland was a colossal blow, especially because he signed somewhere along with 3 other RBs.

I am pleased with WR, I think Thomas is a major get. We did fine there, but adding Jeudy would have put us over the top, especially because he too signed on with 4 other elite receivers.

TE is a miss for me. I think we needed to add another receiving threat there, even if Njoku moves later on.

What Thomas brings is exactly what we needed, and honestly, more than I thought we would get. His cuts and speed are un freaking real.

One thing I love about this class, they get to the ball and get in the endzone. We just got a major boost of football DNA injected into the veins of UM football.

I preferred Pouncy over Smith as a wr. I lost a lot of faith n Smith after the army showing where he got dumped in to the coolers on the sideline. Dude had no dog in that during the play or after. He is already slight in weight at 6'1 160...but ****.

Jerry Juedy reminds me of Stacy Coley. Jeff Thomas is just so much faster than everyone else in his highlights. I like both of them, but Thomas was probably a better fit for us because we already have AR on the other side. Both of them should play in the NFL someday.

No I still think Jeudy and Smith are better prospects because I think they fit the Stacey Coley role more. But Thomas and Harley will keep defenses honest and off of zoning in on Richards.

Hard to argue against this.

I was never high on Jeudy myself, especially since I had school stuff going on during most of his recruitment and never got to buy the hype. But going back and viewing what he does, he's a poor man's Ahmmon.... being generous. But as the man a few slots up said, he was getting shut down and had no separation from the corners. Thomas, on the other hand, was literally uncoverable and electric in the open field. Not as big as evidence, quick as harley or Thomas, and ahmmon's spot is sealed as the number 1. Would've prolly split reps with Mullins when he got here.

Yep. Thomas is facking beast. His cuts are lethal, he literally slow baits a defender, cuts and is 5 yards up the field before they can move

Jeudy is far and away the best WR in country. I like Thomas, and was an outstanding pick up for us though. But, don't get carried away here.

Film doesn't lie.

UA practice film, game film, and UA practice reports from analysts watching him makes a case for Thomas being the best. We have one of the fastest receivers in the country, a developed route runner, can score whenever he touches the ball, and most importantly can catch.

@tpres The real question that should be asked is what do Smith and Juedy have over Thomas? Height? If Thomas was 6'0" with no academic issues, he'd probably be a top 10 player and number 1 receiver in the country. Dude is too hard to cover.

Aside from his Hudl highlights and the aforementioned UA reports, have you seen his camp film? Unbelievable!!! No corner was able to cover him at The Opening and camp circuit.

Simply put, he's too hard to cover
