Guarantee FAMU is better than Central Arkansas and would give FSU a more competitive game than they gave us. Probably similar to the FSU-NMSU game. FAMU might be having a down year, but they are typically a good FCS squad.

I still don't think we should schedule an FCS school, no matter how good they might be for FCS division. But this guy is throwing shade at Miami for playing an FCS school, while his team actually plays a worse FCS school.

We would not have had to play FAMU if SEC team South Carolina had not canceled their games with us.

I know the cancellation was reported as a mutual decision, but I believe this was more of SC pushing the series to be cancelled. Yes, and we did schedule FAMU as the replacement for SC. I also think we had to reschedule the date against Stanford as a result. South Carolina was originally our opening game of the season.

I know it's hypothetical, but if they scheduled us the season after the snub, and say Coach Simmons stays. I can't be convinced that FAM would've had them 1-11...

It's very possible. That 2024 FSU team was one of the biggest failures I've ever seen from a team that was supposed to be good. Talent wise, they should have been better than 2-10. They lost a ton from that '23 team and everybody outside of FSU knew they would take a step back. I don't think any of us expected them to be one of the worst teams in FBS.

I think FSU's '26 squad is actually less much less talented than the '24 squad. Kromah, Duce, and that linebacker Chris Jones are the only upgrades from that '24 team.

Look how bad FSU has looked over the first 2 games. They struggled mighty with NMSU despite getting all the breaks and lucky bounces. They got wrecked by SMU outside of a couple series. Again, FSU got all the breaks with turnovers and untimely penalties. You would think FSU would would have won the game with a 4+ margin turnover rate.

The wheels could come off after this Bama game. Does FSU keep the game close by getting all the breaks or does their luck run out and they get demolished?
