I can see Manny jumping at the fsu job if offered. It's his alma-mater and he would get some recommendations from former employers James Franklin, Dan Mullen, Rick Stockstill and employees like Lashlee. He talks a good game and can sell it to fsu, imo. Plus, he's riding a wave at Duke but he knows that's not a football program to stick around to for long.

Alright, this is nothing personal, but sometimes I feel like people are too quick to post, and don't pay enough attention to context.

First, this is F$U Tears.

Second, I pulled an F$U post about it being a "false narrative" that F$U is "punting on 2026", when it is obvious that "punting on 2026" is actually true.

Third, the F$U post was about the Portal. It was not about the blue chip index, it was not about high school recruits.

Finally, the F$U post was forcused on the "names" they are "bringing in from the Portal". But as facts and results have proven, F$U substantially underbid for all the Portal "names" that they "brought in", particularly at quarterback.

Here is the reality. F$U had the 28th ranked Portal class in 2026. They had THREE transfers with a 4-star rating OUT OF TWENTY-THREE. That's not how you turn things around from 2-10 and 5-7. It's just not. The F$U post claiming a "false narrative" about 2026 was based on delusional hopes and dreams that the "names" F$U was pursuing would actually choose F$U for cheap, and that was never going to happen.

There's more detail. FSU has some blue chip players (moreso than all of the Miami teams of the 2010s), but the trend is down.

2024: .8942 (46 blue chip players) (avg overall experience 2.04 years)
2025: .8924 (45 blue chip players) (avg overall experience 1.84 years)
2026: .8851 (41 blue chip players) (avg overall experience 1.40 years)

They're now a very, very young team. Younger than any of Miami's opponents last year, and younger than the Hurricanes themselves.

It's also where those blue chips are distributed:

WR: Eight blue chip players, but four of them are true freshmen. Are they playing?
TE: Three blue chips, with an average experience of 0.67 years
HB: Five blue chip players
OL: Three blue chips (out of 19 players)
QB: Two blue chip players (both HS recruits), but neither are playing
DL: Four blue chip players, but three are true freshmen
DE: Five blue chip players, with an average experience 0.8 years
LB: Three blue chip players
S: One blue chip player (true freshman)
CB: Five blue chip players

Florida State has no five stars on their roster. Their highest ranked player is true freshman Chauncey Kennon (.9730)

People don’t realize just how terrible Norvell actually is. His teams have had more blue chip talent than pretty much any Al Golden UM team. Yet as bad as Fat Al sucked, he never had 2 win seasons.

I don't think Manny recruits well enough to be a fit for FSU. FSU expects to be in the mix for the top recruits in FL, and on the national stage come game day. Manny did neither of those things here. You could explain away some of that being poor resources and a weak AD, if you're trying to talk yourself into hiring him, but I doubt he would be a top 5 choice for them. He's probably in the perfect spot at Duke.

You’re correct! A school like Duke is probably perfect for Manny. The issue is…. does Manny realize that a school like Duke is perfect for him? My guess is he probably don’t. He would be on the first thing smoking to Tallahassee, if offered. The only thing hiring Manny would do for them, would be moving them about 4 years farther behind us. If you’re desperate enough, you can easily talk yourself into a Manny Diass hire. But if you fancy yourself a school that takes football seriously, and you hire Manny, you’re gonna stay looking up at your main rivals. You’re gonna be spending 1st class money, for 2nd-3rd class results. We lived the Manny experience. I’m glad we moved on before I needed a **** liver transplant.
