You almost have to know at some point it’s going to happen to all of them unless the showrunners are smart enough to get out while they’re on top which doesn’t happen often cause they all think they’ll be on top forever but the actors either get tired of the show or ask for more money year over year until it just isn’t viable for the stations to carry it as viewership wanes as the storylines suffer.

Sure I see that. Thing is, after the season with John Lithgow, the show went from consistently awesome to huh? Then it just kept getting worse. Fonzie jumping the shark is the epitome of a shows fall off, but even the most staunch Happy Days fan would admit that the show had slowly started circling the drain prior to that episode. Dexter went from Jimmy Johnson to Manny Diaz instantaneously.
Not sure why I never got into it but I remember watching a show of it and didn’t like it much.I guess there’s just something’s that don’t tickle your fancy so to speak.Maybe I’ll go back and take a second look.With all the garbage on regular TV lately always looking for something to get into it.

Can't be the best TV show ever when McNulty was played by a terrible actor.
Why would I be mad about him being a serial cheater and drunk when I just said that The Sopranos is my all-time favorite show? 99% of the characters on that show were serial cheaters and drunks and I loved them.
I knew you might be unique but this removes all doubt cause I pretty much think you are the one person on earth that hated the Wire….
Yea that series that ran about a half dozen episodes where they tried to do a remake of SUITS really sucked…
There's no need for a spinoff because the explanation is all within the show. As to the Sopranos I watched it to the end but when it started with Tony and the ducks and his panic attacks then went into Chris trying to write a movie about his life it started to drag for me and I still hate the way it ended.

I am sure that I hated The Wire, so much so that I couldn't even get through the whole show. It was too boring and too frustrating, and I hated how uneven the quality was. I understand why others liked it, but it's not for me. There are great elements, but for me they do not outweigh the flaws. I also think that for me, the symbolism about the systemic corruption was something that I already knew so much about. So that's why I understand why people liked it and thought it was special (especially at the time), but to me it was obvious. But that's why I don't argue with people about it, because I'm not trying to convince anyone else that it sucks; that's just my opinion of why it didn't work for me.
