I actually was going to call Cane30 out on the FSU has 2nd best WR room, then reread it, and unlike some grasped what he In-eloquently said.

Sir, for the record, the INCORRECT spelling of "Offcial" is completely intentional, and was based on an F$U recruiting letter a few years ago THAT MISSPELLED THE WORD "OFFICIAL" (as in "Offcial Offer").

"Offcial" is part of the joke, and (I believe) was inserted into the thread name by @RVACane after we all laughed about the recruiting letter error.

Those of us who have posted in these threads don't need the word "only" to know the purpose of these threads. Only one poster needs that explained to him (or her).

Got it, your time is better spent calling out / arguing this and with other posters cause they prefer consistency in two of the boards most sacred threads.

I changed it so that now you all CAN call him out for not reading the room. Not to defend him, but to make it blatantly obvious.

I get it. And I ain't mad at ya. I just thought the whole thing was funny. First, that an intentionally ignorant porster managed to state (poorly) something that gave rise to a (possibly) unintentional slight to Miami while lauding F$U ON THE F$U TEAR THREAD, and second, that anyone was taking the time to defend such an inartful and out-of-place porst.

That's all. It's nothing personal, this just isn't a good thread for that porster to porst in.

No, our time was wasted by cry babies sending in reports to ban him, causing several mods to have to read all his ******* posts to verify if he was a troll. And had we seen trollish behavior, he would be gone.

You’re probably correct , but blame the cry babies reporting this thread for us to ban him, which is the only reason Caneingville and myself weighed in.

Again, with all due respect, I'm not sure it makes us "crybabies" to attempt some gentle self-policing of our two longest-standing and highest-impact threads.

We are all trying to do our parts to keep CIS going, nobody is angry, nobody is upset.

I would opine that moderating / QC is never a waste of time, and an integral part of the job, as the aggregation of information both positive and negative improves the integrity of the site.

Appreciate the insight.

It's all good. I believe we had another poster a few weeks ago (Kapulaites?) who started arguing with @caneingville over the spelling of the word "offcial", and we all jumped in to defend her on behalf of an ongoing joke that is 4 years old.

We get new posters all the time, particularly since the launch of the CIS app. I'm just trying to maintain the good spirits (and intentional misspellings) of the two greatest Tears threads on this board.

Agree and I willingly volunteered to help out fellow Maude’s by going through a bunch of his posts to ascertain his Troll status.

Just like we did with McClintock and ending up banning him.

PS, for the record, a lot of us just come straight to Tears for the laughs. So it's a downer when someone wanders in here and doesn't respect the context and intent. That is all. I'm done now.

Yeah, and I do appreciate that since I wasn't on the board much during that time. Y'all are the best.

This was a bit different. It got to the point where we even had to get D$'s opinion on the posts. So none of this was directed specifically at you or anyone in particular.

But sometimes it might be good for us all to remember that newbies might not understand what a "tears" thread is. Before we berate them, we can explain it to them.

We all knew it, but we had to gather enough evidence to ban him since he claimed to be a UM Alum.

We’ve been looking into Cane30’s posts for two weeks and have spoken to him and D$.

We don’t take banning lightly, nor do we want to discourage people’s opinions. A lot goes on behind the scenes, before we act or comment.

It's all good. You know how I am, I start gentle with newbies before I get to the "berate" phase. This dude just wouldn't listen to what people were trying to tell him.

CIS just has a long, ignominious tradition of "Miami fans" passive-aggressively giving love to our rival corches, players, and fans.

"Corch Neon Prime can really recruit, he's gonna be a problem."
"Those Texas A&M fans suuuuure were nice to me."
"Notre Dame has two amazing running backs and that QB is going to be really good."
"Florida is a really good academic school."
"F$U's new stadium improvements are a step up."

All of those things might be factually true, but nobody wants to hear about that crap on Tears threads.
