his agent fleeced FSUck when saban retired, and they thought they were going to go after him, and he wasn't even one of their targets

I looked at their class, it's a big class physically, even at the skill positions, they're probably gonna be slow as ****.

This is absolutely insane. Their AD should 100% be fired for this. To even get this down to a "reasonable" number, they'd have to wait 3 more years.

Quite honestly, if I'm Norvell, I approach them about a diminished buyout just to get a large chunk of that money and enjoy my life away from that hellhole. Dude looks so exhausted and defeated. The stress is definitely aging him. But lucky for us, I'm not Norvell...

Four more years, really, because of the way the coaching hire cycle works. These dates say December 31 - so if they were to fire him in three years, during the 2028 coaching cycle, they would still owe $42.5MM. They’d have to wait until 2029 to get it to the $34MM number. At that point, they’d need him to coach the 2029 season as well.

You’re absolutely right that their best shot is to try to negotiate with him and see if he’ll take a reduced contract. He did take a reduced salary this past year and “give” some money back into the facilities build. But ****, they are not coming from a position of strength here. He could absolutely dig his heels in and say **** you, pay me. What a mess.

Potential strategy for Norvell

1. Dig in his heels and refuse any further concessions
2. Remind FSU that they are linked together for good or bad for the next few years
3. Remind FSU that with the right, elite quarterback his system can work
4. Insist on more NIL funds for the portal. A lot more. If they balk, remind them of point 2
