I don’t even know Norvell will be able to do the only things he’s ever done well this offseason. If any portal kid is dumb enough to hitch their likely last chance to this sinking ship, they need to be studied for CTE. I don’t care how much money they throw out there.

I am completely disappointed by both the lack of tears in here, but also how few of you have come to which should be a flood zone
I wonder if they just kinda accepted it. I work with a FSU fan. After they kept him and lost to Stanford he just accepted his fate. But he’s also a Falcons fan, so he’s had a rough year in football so far.

Those questioning how FSU can be 5-6 despite outgaining nearly every opponent on their schedule need look no further than their game against us. When you fall behind by 25 points in the second half, defenses completely change how they defend you. They’ll concede four yard gains to keep you from getting any big plays. They’ll be more than happy to let you go on 12 play drives that take 7 minutes off the clock. FSU fans will point at the box score and say “we outgained Miami and almost beat them” but anyone who watched the game knows it was 28-3 after three quarters and Miami traded yards for clock. Gus Malzahn is the master of garbage time stats. Last year at UCF his team outgained opponents by over 100 yards per game but somehow went 4-8.

Hat tip to both Jordan Travis and Jimmy Sexton. Travis was good enough to make Norvell look like a competent coach, while Sexton totally leveraged the "snub" season to land a massive and undeserved contract extension for Norvell following Saban's retirement. I was sick to my stomach when Al Golden was retained following the 6-7 season in 2014. Now the shoe is on the other foot and the tears are delicious!
That final Travis season was such a blessing. Norvell with Travis did well enough to inject hope and promise into that sinking program while also not accomplishing anything noteworthy (cool, they won the conference championship - that tshirt is as vaulable as the Back-to-Back State Champ shirts D$ was hawking on CIS).

Imo, Travis made Travis look good, 90% of their offensive success was Travis playing backyard football and thats what they were trying to recreate with Tommy, he just has nowhere near the same weapons....Mike did attack the portal like no one else back then though, but it's a wrap now that everyone saw what could happen

Its kinda like running into someone you went to high school with and hated. You see them and the hatred is still there, but then you see he is homeless, has no teeth and all his earthly possessions can be found in a stolen grocery cart that he is pushing down the street. You can still have that hatred but it doesnt feel as good to dunk on them at that moment.

I think it’s time to give cornrows his due.

That was an amazing win yesterday and undoubtedly justifies not only him retaining his position, but extending his contract.

From his prancing out to the field extending his pinky in the air, to his great coaching and recruiting, to the back rubs, the holes need not look elsewhere for a long term coaching solution.

You’ve definitely got the ear of FSU’s decision makers.

The negative recruiting available to rival coaches is going to be unprecedented. Gonna be too easy. Cristobal just has to tell recruits that Norvell will be fired next year and that he wasn’t fired this year because the school couldn’t afford it.

I would think a bunch of kids will try and leave via the portal this offseason. Who wants to be on that sinking ship

High end hate-watch material this week. Honestly, these post game recaps have been one of my favorite watches the past 2 years. Everything about this week is gold though.

These dudes are ******' clowns. The guy on the right was at ACC media days before last season talking **** about how Cam Ward "...could be where DJU is, if he had made a quicker decision" (paraphrasing). Tools. It has been really fun watching them wallow in misery.

Going to be suchhhh a good offseason for Nole tears
Pate did a segment on FSU keeping Norvell. He did say the quiet part out loud, something we all said here but paraphrasing:

1. He actually likes Norvell and thinks he is a good coach (we do say this in jest...), but made the wrong choice going all-in on the portal, it worked 1 year, they tried to recreate it to the detriment of HS recruiting, couldnt sustain it and here they are.

2. FSU putting out that statement about how committed they are to Norvell is the biggest TLDR he can think of, we all know why you are retaining him, you dont have the money to fire him, why dont you have the money? Because a big money agent convinced you he was in line for the Bama job when he never was, it was Debeor the entire time, you got got.

3. Even if you had an assassin row of recruiters, it would be hard to recruit in this environment. Then adds on that FSU doesnt even have above average recruiters, you can assume they didnt recruit HS well because they had this portal strategy but he isnt convinced they could recruit HS well if they even wanted to.
