I mean saying not now due to his contract could mean anything from end of year to end of 2028 lol. His buyout is 85% of his remaining contract value. They'd owe $53M if they fire him after this season. Like even the "restructured pay cut" they agreed to for this season that cut his salary $4.5M is paid back to him in the even he's fired lol (well pro-rated $750k less per year).

I doubt they fire him tbh. Especially not if they get bowl eligible. I mean Stanford, Wake, and VTech should still be decently easy wins for them. Probably lose to Clemson. NCSt is a toss up. UF is also a toss up and Napier probably is actually fired by then, even if UF is more talented, that could go either way...
