Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Miami fans really forgetting we beat Castellanos already huh.

Par for the course
I think people forgot all about that Boston College game because we had already fallen apart for the season.

Castellanos had 130 yards rushing but none of it mattered because the game was 28-7 at halftime. Miami was perfectly fine with letting BC run the ball down three touchdowns in the second half.

It also explains how UCF went 4-8 last year despite averaging 250 yards rushing and 5.8 yards per carry. They would fall behind early and the opponents would gladly let Gus Malzahn run the ball and the clock when they were down multiple scores.

One dimensional, run heavy offenses are fine if you’re in a close game or your defense just shuts everyone out but if your opponent actually scores a couple of touchdowns early, the game is over.

He should get as much time and leeway on CIS, in my opinion, as the St. CoRchibal purists on here give Mario so I don’t even need to worry about DeBoer’s results for like what - another 3, 4 or 10 years or so. In the meantime

I hear ya.

However, Mario had more than 2 good years at Oregon.

AND, Mario was not replacing, say, Nick Saban.

So maybe we don't need 3 or 4 or 10 years to acknowledge that DeBoer was a reach. Although, with Prison Mike as his main competition...
We’ll… he took the job. I think it’s either brave or dumb but he took it and he should be given as much time to succeed there by the people here who have given Mario “Let Mario Cook!” amounts of time.

I never makes excuses for Mario, but it’s not an apt comparison for the most important reason of all. They took over two completely different teams, with two polar opposite levels of talent. Not to mention two completely different cultures.

I took a break here but people really comparing Manny/Mario to Saban/Deboer...? lol

Perhaps I should extend the break.

What kind of bull**** am I reading? I drive down to Miami for the game, and then all these Canes fans start blowing DeBoer and Castellanos?

The guy had 152 yards of passing and 78 yards of rushing. That is ******* pathetic.

If we think that massive production will be "tough to contain", we might as well quick playing tackle football.
Well, our linebackers haven't exactly been all world and how many prolific running qb's have we shut down recently ? Even this no name CJ Carr kid broke a few qb draws on us

This job was harder in those terms, sure. But DeBoer runs different systems than Saban so he too deserves the same amount of time to “get his players in” as they say. I’m sure the purge is less

I have no idea how good FSU is because we have no idea how good Bama is. This is not Saban Bama. How far they have fallen, you dont know yet. FSU went 2-10 of course this is gonna look and feel like a national title team to them. For all we know they got up for one game and go right back to being bums like last year. Doubt it but dont know. New season.

You seriously need to take a break from posting.

"Our linebackers haven't exactly been all world". When? Last year? You have got to be ******* kidding me. We just played, and beat, the national championship finalist from last year.

"No name CJ Carr kid"? What, a freshman 5-star? And you think he "broke a few QB draws on us"?

---CJ Carr runs for -2 yards (first quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 6 yards (second quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for no gain (second quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 13 yards (third quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 6 yards (third quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 7 yards (fourth quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 3 yards (fourth quarter)
---CJ Carr runs for 7 yards (fourth quarter)

NOT COUNTING THE SACKS, he ran for 40 yards. Most of that **** was dropbacks where he saw the chance to pick up 5 or 6 yards instead of throwing another screen pass. How is any of that "breaking a few QB draws on us"?

Get the **** out of here with this nonsense.

If you hold a "running" QB to 40 yards, you've done something right.

I don’t think DeBoer is suspect, he’s won everywhere he’s been. However, the DeBoer + Grubb combination guarantees results.

He’s very suspect and a questionable fit for Bama. That game was an atrocious look for him. He’s now lost to Vandy and FSU, two teams Alabama has unquestionably out-recruited. The most annoying part is all the Noles fans who had been in hiding all summer are now awake and obnoxious.

he has won everywhere, got into a NC game. I think people underestimate how hard it is to take over someone's else roster. Even thought it is loaded with talent, it still wasnt his kids or system.

The talent differential between Bama and FSU is currently quite substantial. I don’t care what he wants to do long-term, a decent coaching job is to win your games now and work towards your identity over time. He’s failing his first responsibility. It’s great to see Bama floundering though. That’s a 4 to 5 loss team potentially.

Here's the talent composite for this year. There's no excuse for Bama not to be an elite team.

I want them to be as hopeful as possible. This is going to be an ugly game. They are getting beat to sleep. A ranked win potentially at that, for free. There’s no way they saw us vs a CFP runner up and thought, “we could do that”. I may go to this game also. I wanna see that Norvell hopeless face in person.

On their boards they’re convinced that they’re back and elite. Believe that Castellanos will make a heisman run. They’re definitely improved but we’re going to stomp them at Doak. Reverse 2013

I'll take that against Tiny Tommy right now cause If that's all he gets on us we win by 4-5 scores..

I’m not going to pretend I know what system DeBoer runs, or how it difference differs from Saban’s, but when you’re starting out with a roster stacked with five stars into the 3-deep, how much do you have to change the roster?

I mean, I would think you don’t need that much time when you’re starting out with an already disciplined culture full of talented players, which is what he was given.

I have no idea what’s going on with Alabama, but from my perspective, it falls on the coach and a seemingly failed strategy for taking over, at least up to this point. Can he course correct and set the ship back on course? Who knows? But something is definitely wrong.

JJ walked into a stacked Howard Schnellenberger team. After surviving The Assistant Coach Mutiny of 1984, he had a 10-1 regular season in 1985 and an 11-0 regular season in 1986.

Dennis Erickson walked into a stacked JJ team. He proceeded to win the national championship in his first year.

Larry Coker walked into a stacked Butch team. He proceeded to win the national championship in his first year.

I understand the tendency to say "let Kalen DeBoer get his own guys in".

Baga is now 5-5 in their last 10 games, including 4 loses to unranked teams.

The Holes are definitely improved, but they better slow their roll. Overconfidence is a byotcha.

The end of the 2024 season for Alabama was the polar opposite to what we saw during the Saban years. Outside of an Iron Bowl win at home against a 5-7 Auburn team, DeBoer is 1-3 in this last four games. Outside of the FSU loss, this includes:

- A 24-3 drubbing against an Oklahoma team that finished the 2024 season 6-7.
- A 19-13 bowl loss against Michigan that featured 3 Michigan opt-outs drafted in the Top 15 in the 2025 NFL draft and another second round pick.

And if my memory serves me correctly, Alabama didn't have too many players opt out in the bowl game.

Agreed that FSU is better, but DeBoer is completely in over his head. FSU fans are acting as if they conquered the 'Bama of old and they didn't. That program is a complete shell of what it used to be.
