Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

That's some serious delusion.

Never mind the "first F$U collective" getting them put on probation.

Never mind the "second F$U collective" choosing not to pay their own players, and losing them to the Portal.

Oh, sure, they had one year where they threw a few bucks at their own imported recruits so that they wouldn't enter the NFL draft a year early....

"Top 5 NIL program". Untrue.

"Is the best run in the country". Insanity.
It’s a challenging model. They started out with poor talent and instantly upgraded through mass portal signings. In theory, each year you would rely less and less on the portal and more and more on an improved group of players that you recruited from high school.

Now in many positions, they have improved their high school recruiting (HB, WR, CB). But they couldn’t help themselves…they still went out and signed 4 star portal players at each position, several who have 1-3 years of eligibility remaining. Why should some of the high end high school recruits wait around?

To that end, let's use WR as an example. FSU had two highly touted players with one year of experience returning (Hkyeem Williams and Destyn Hill), plus another four star in Vandrevious Jacobs with one year's experience. They also added Elijah Moore and Lawayne McCoy to the mix - both four star athletes.

But then they decided to sign Jalen Brown and Malik Benson to the mix via the portal. Now maybe the players above beat them out, but it wasn't necessary to create the additional competition. Brown and Benson also have only one year's experience, and they were added to a room that already featured eleven wide receivers. It's one thing to add an experienced player with 3 or 4 years who is a sure-fire target, but they added more inexperience to a room that was already crowded.

Fantastic point and a great example with stats.

This is the kind of detail that gets lost in the fog of Miami-Nole fans yapping about how Prison Mike is the King of the Portal.

This tells me they have no confidence in their returning players or their ability to develop their own players. It’s one thing to bring in a proven veteran but they just took anyone who was willing.

The .....tears thing sounds pretty inappropriate for me especially when it applies to the Gators (Who I hate). They turned two players from us. Last year and one so far this year. Hate them yes but they like us are trying to get back to relevance and unlike us they have a conference championship game appearance on their resume. PSU tears? Also on the way back. They beat the best team in their league last year. Finally get this in your head. We will never consistantly out recruit the Noles. We never have even during the glory years and never will. Let's take the attitude of our coach. Show class, recruit kids who buy in, coach me up, and do it the right way. Who cares what our rivals do.
This particular thread is devoted exclusively to whatever our rivals do that brings us joy. Even when Bobby Bowden was king of the hill, there was nothing better in the world than the dumb-****ed look on his face when a kick would sail wide-whatever.

Even when they are undefeated in the regular season and beat us consecutive times, whatever dumb-****ery they are certain to pull will always bring us laughter and joy.

It might not be for faux rivals, but it's what real rivals do.

what in the name of all that is holy allows them to put the gators 11th???

that class, with the exception of their QB, is not great. MAYBE top 20, but no better than that.

and ranking the semenholes 14th is generous in itself.

It was their 2 five stars. Other than that their class was very subpar. That is why the semenholes dropped so much. They lost two 5 stars in Blount (to us) and Bolden (to UGA)

I would add that Floridas class is propped up even more because those two 5 stars are both in the top five composite. FSU at least has some depth, but Floridas class is pitiful after the top 2.
