Picked up lumber in Titusville recently and took it up to Brainerd Minnesota. Them roads to get to Titusville, lawd. I was coming from south on I80. I was making sure to not take no wrong detour. Then it started raining of course.
The first time we drove to Titusville, in the mid1980s, it was late at night and it must have been the same roads because we had several
close occassins where we nearly hit raccoons, deer and other furry little mammals. My buddy said it was not unusual to hit something on
the way to his hometown.
There are also Amish nearby and occasionally they drive their buggies late at night with only a lantern on their carriage.
He said one evening they hit one of them after leaving a frat party where they were drinking.
They destroyed the carriage bad but the passengers and horse were OK.
He said they were very apologetic to them and refused help or ride home.
From your comments it sounds like much hasn't changed.
The town is historical as this was one of the first spots where oil was discovered.
Rockefeller actually lived there during discovery and there is a block or two of large Victorian homes reflecting
the new money at that time.
