We did take it a little too far in that 2021 Miami/Bama match up comparison. We definitely overestimated our talent and underestimated Bama's talent.

To be fair, we came off a pretty good 2020 season and basically had our entire offense returning and added a stud receiver in Rambo. We returned a lot on defense as well. Lost Phillips, but brought back everybody else and added Tyrique Stevenson. Bama had lost all their production on offense and a lot on defense. What we failed to realize that Bama had those 5 stars just waiting in the wings that didn't have much opportunity to play in 2020. Not saying we dismissed their young talent, but we probably didn't give them enough credit or respect.

This FSU/Miami 2026 comparison is a little different. FSU is not coming off a good 2025 season. We are also returning majority of our productivity on offense, and defense. Sure, we lost some studs, but we are bringing back studs. FSU did not lose studs, nor are they bringing back studs. They return some good players (Duce), but not many. They even downgraded at qb while we upgraded, and we were already light years ahead of them in that position last year.

I remember playing a round at Melreece before that game. On the tee in front of us was a young woman who worked in the training room. I asked her, "Are we ready for Bama?" She paused, looked at me, and said, "No".
 
They have two players who would likely start here. Robinson at X and probably the LB transfer from Southern Miss. Thats it. The talent gap is pretty staggering.

I think this guy is serious. Objectively speaking there's literally not a single position group except arguably TE (only because we're young there and missing one of our players for this season) where we're not significantly better than them. I love how at QB they slightly concede to us an advantage...what...? Mensah is easily the best QB in the ACC and inarguably a top 5 QB nationally. I have Mensah and Chmabliss as A1 and A2 best QB's in the country.

Anyhoo, I'm sure this guy is serious and that shows you their delusional nature. The final score might only be by 2 scores because our backups should get a lot of playing time in this one, but we will effectively crush them and if their coach hasn't been fired by that game, it would be unsurprising if we were the final nail in the coffin.
