Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Don’t pin your hopes on that. Manny just extended and FSU is beyond broke.

There is a growing belief in the fan base that their AD Alford could get fired and Mike could survive if by some miracle they win 6-7 games. They have no money. Even after this year mikes buyout is significant. Alford has been the one who created this salary cap conversation fsu always has. I think he could get scapegoated.
Sounds like a win win regardless

Not sure if real but still funny

Yes - people love to point and laugh at them. Surprised they haven't figured that out yet. Besides, aren't they still participating in an active lawsuit against @theACC? If I could get some of my clients to only say that the people suing them "suck" (if suck is used, there's almost always a body part also involved) my life would be a lot easier.

And - truth is an absolute defense. They do, in fact, suck.

Can FSU realistically afford to pay the buyout of Norvell and his staff and also hire a new staff this season? Or will they need another year to chip off some $$$?

I’m teetering between wanting them to do just well enough to keep Norvell and hamstring themselves a few more years or do abysmally, fire Mike, and incur even greater debt to hire a cheap, average coach—possibly destroying their athletic department for a decade plus.

I can't wait for FSU to fire Norvell only to hire Manny Diaz
Best case scenario is that if they do fire Norvell, it’s mid-season and then they roll with Herman and he shows some signs of life. Not enough to not make their season look anything respectable, but barely enough to convince the AD and boosters to pull the interim tag from Herman and he absolutely falls flat on his face after 2-3 seasons.

Then they desperately go after Manny after he’s putting along at Duke winning 7-9 games a year, and then he goes through a tenure like he had year and now FSU is 6-7 years further down the hole after this season. Best case scenario.

Manny is someone their posters and insiders have talked about. One of their bigger posters keeps bringing up Schuman who I do think is their best option. They’re not bringing in an established P5 guy

They can't afford to mess up that hire. If they're going down, they are going to go down with a high profile P4 guy.

They dont have the money to pay the Norvell + staff buyouts and get a proven P4 coach + staff. That’s a $100M affair.

They hire a guy, imo, like schuman who gets them back to 8-9 wins a year and stabilizes things.

reverse that
An Al Golden team with just twenty blue chip
players got to 7-5. We got to 9-3 with barely over that in 2013. Florida State has 41 between HS and transfer portal players. Thats why I’m cautious to say FSU will automatically be a 3-4 win team.

In this hypothetical best case scenario, it’s contingent on the QB outperforming and being better than DJ or Castallaneos. Per an Auburn alumni that I work with and spoke to yesterday, he may be.

Even better Mike for 3 more years
