Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

I understand this delusion from "fsuclyde", but isn't Josh Newberg supposed to know better?

Shannon also lost a Kayvon Webster and Sam Barrington to USF. How TF do you do that?

Everyone thought Webster was headed to UM and somehow Jim Leavitt nabbed him.
Barrington was a recruit that we recruited late in the recruiting cycle, if I recall.
The night before signing day his Dad spoke with Ferman and he made it sound that he was headed here with the old man telling him to watch signing day that it was going to be a big day for the Canes.
It sure was indeed.
I don't miss those days.
Bowden, Leavitt, Meyer, etc punking us.

dead man walking coach situation needs to end. my guess is they negotiate some kind of buyout with him after this season - if he cares about FSU maybe he gives them a break but if does have the leverage obviously

Dude is hoping for Tiger Woods to start funding their football program.

Tiger Woods is cheaper than Warren Sapp...

This is VERY true. Back in Tigers glory days he used to train with Navy Seals in the offseason…so according to one of the Seals..they all went to dinner after a training day....nothing fancy..like a chicken wing joint or something along those lines..the Seal said when the check came..they all assumed Tiger would offer to cover because of what they were helping him with by letting him train with them..man that guy said Tiger told the waitress to give individual checks and paid for his food and got up. 😂.

Plus how old is Jimbo now, Late 50s? Is that a solution?

Given how loud the "Bring Back Butch" crowd was on here, none of this shocks me. Desperate fanbases will always clutch for the nearest reminder of the glory days.

Unfortunately for FSU, I think the football program is actually dead. Their admins seem unrecoverably idiotic even by university administration standards, which likely makes them eligible for disability benefits.

I stand on it. Bringing back Butch was a much better option than Manny Diaz and the previous bums minus Mark Richt. Also Jimbo is not some equalizer for current college football, but he is a better option than Norvell.

But.......
Looking back and looking at college football now, being broke or cheap cannot be fixed by magic coaching.

I love the fact that they think they can get Jimbo for cheap.

Guy won a national championship for them, and they think that F$U has all the leverage...

Hilarious.

Jimbo earned $35M from FSU then another $125M from TAMU, from whom he's still collecting paychecks. He also has no offset clause meaning he will continue collecting whether he works or not. I don't see him working for charity, especially at a place where he went through an apparently messy divorce.

The only guys I could see doing something of that level of goodwill would be someone like a Butch Davis or Mark Richt who loved their program. I never saw Jimbo Fisher as a high character individual.

Indiana is the exception. They're going to believe they can hit the Cignetti lottery ticket.

Perfect storm of a great coach and a ready-made roster. I'm sure others will try to emulate and end up firing good coaches because they haven't won the chip in year two.

Also, IU's deployment of resources (mostly via a cash-flush Mark Cuban) were extraordinary given their previous level of investment. We knew 12 months ago they nailed the transfer portal. Then they gave Cignetti $9m per year mid season to lock him down when others were sniffing.

FSU is 100% going to hire Jimbo back. They won’t have the $ to get a top candidate and I don’t think they can go for another up and comer off one good season like a Norvell or Sumerall.

At one point, both Tiger Woods and Warren Sapp lived in Orlando in the off-season. And Orlando has a LOT of restaurants.

Waitresses HATED seeing either of those guys walk in. Unless it was the Waffle House waitress that Tiger was banging.

I have no problems with them pining away for Jimbo. I wanted us to rehire Butch for a long time.

But F$U fans thinking they can get Jimbo on the cheap? Hilarious.

Not to mention the fact that Jimbo (allegedly) left F$U because they were too cheap to fund facilities and other improvements in the program.

Alford is not going to spend the way that F$U fans fantasize that he will.

Tiger had a way of creating his own VIP parking spots on-the-fly.

Sapp strikes me as the kind of guy who would threaten to kill the salt shaker before dipping without paying and taking a dump in the flower bed on the way out.
