They were lining up to kick PAT and the refs didn't let them I guesss? Or they reset the gameclock without just making them delay of game.

Like technically, if you're not allowed to go for a PAT due to OT rules, why should the refs STOP you from doing it. They should let you run that as your 2 pt play and then award you zero points. But either way they shouldn't let you send the FG unit on field for PAT then give you a full clock reset to sent your offense back out without a penalty...

Of course none of that mattered

Correct. If Elliott makes that bonehead decision, then he has to run the 2pt conversion with his FG unit. But he had a timeout too. He had his TO for OT
