Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Tallahassee Democrat bragging about how Thomas "Half-Pint" Castellanos threw TWO touchdowns after having his first pass intercepted during scrimmage.

There is nothing that the F$U sportswriters won't do to spin bull**** into gold for F$U football...

They actually posted the following stats:

FSU (all QBs) went 49 of 94 on passes thrown for more than 10 yards in the air (52%).
DJU went 30 of 52 on those passes thrown for more than 10 yards in the air (58%).
Castellanos went 30 of 66 on passes thrown for more than 10 yards in the air (45%).

Allow me to quote Liam Rooney from the Tallahassee Democrat:

"While the big-play threat brought by Castellanos brings a boost to the offense..."

WHAT?
There’s no way that’s real right?

Oh it's real. And spectacular.

He’ll be better than what they had in DJU, but holy **** this is a terrible rep.

How will he be better than what they had in DJU?

DJU is playing in the NFL right now. Castellanos will never make an NFL roster.

Two things stand out in that video.

1. The diminutive size of Castellanos...he just looks tiny compered to EVERY OTHER PLAYER.
2. That pass was badly underthrown and should have been picked.

Think he’s a better fit for their scheme, and his mobility will help with their terrible OL.

However, like you’ve said before, his arm talent and decision making are lacking. Their WR room is also culo. Wouldn’t be surprised if they end up being 4-8/5-7

I don't know about "scheme". Gus is not exactly great with QBs, and didn't he pass on Castellanos when he was at UCF?

The mobility MIGHT be a thing, I guess, but to me that is a better skill when you are INTENTIONALLY using the QB in the running game. I'm not so sure it's a great desperation-trait when the QB is flushed from the pocket. Case in point is that video, Castellanos was forced to the right (his throwing side) and still underthrew what coulda/woulda/shoulda been an easy 20 to 25-yard TD pass, as the WR was behind the DB by a couple of steps.

His mobility isn’t going to do a **** thing because defenders will already be tackling him. If anything, maybe he runs backwards a few steps, but that’s it.

He shouldn’t even be a QB at the P4 level. FCS, maybe.

Its like FSU was like "Hey remember that kid who almost knocked off our Awesome team that got burned by the committee. He is in the portal. If he played that well vs that team imagine what he'd do vs the rest of the ACC"

They won’t have any deep passing game. But if he’s healthy, Malzahn will def get them to run the ball. I just think their roster is paper thin right now so any setbacks and they are ****ed.

“They are ****ed” is already their default position. We need a phrase for what comes after “they are ****ed“.

Gus took Castellanos at UCF. He started there in 2022 and played in a few games and transferred to BC for the 2023 season.
