Nobody feels sorry for us

In 2021, Oregon struggled to beat Fresno State then went into Columbus as 14.5 point underdogs with there best player- Kayvon Thibideaux and two top LBs Justin Flowe and Dru Mathis. And a 3rd linebacker Keith Brown went down.

Oregon controlled the game and pulled off the upset. Mario’s signature win.

Everyone needs to put their big boy pants on and that’s not just players , that goes for fans too. Everyone in America is dealing with injuries but most fans don’t pay attention to other programs to notice. Florida has been without their best wr most of the year. Ohio State lost their qb . Texas injury list has enough NIL cash on it to buy new BBL’s and ***** for the entire Kardashian and Jenner families, Caitlyn included. Then there’s the team we’re playing who has 4-5 guys possibly out this week and some for season.

There’s no replacing Mali but in a weird way maybe this takes pressure off the team and galvanizes guys. I’ve seen things like this workout in the short term. Us against the world type motivation.

The defense has already been getting trashed by fans and media (rightfully so). On top of that most had us already losing this game. Now we really have no shot and we lost our entire team with Toney injury. If this culture and team is what we think it is they should be chopping at the bit to step up and prove folks wrong. It’s called house money.

It’s game nine so guys like Spafford and Wingo are no longer Freshmen . It’s your time and this is why you come to a program like Miami.

Yes ,odds are stacked against the team but as I said I’ve seen weird things happen to a team facing adversity. On top of that nobody gives a **** or feels pity for Miami. Just like we didn’t for FSU when they lost Jordan Travis. Injuries are part of the game. Now shoot to survive until Mali comes back.
Its had to teplace a player like Mali.. However, Canes still win!!! We have too many receivers thats looking to step up! This will make mensah and everyone step.. mensah gone spread it around! I got a good feeling Miami finishes undefeated regular season, and win ACCCG... and mali be back for play offs. This team is still talented ennough to beat Notre Dame! Or anyone in the country..

All I know is this team **** the bed when Toney's injury occurred against Wake Forest. Who can blame any fan for thinking disaster now that he's out a while? I remember the gameday thread and the entire board was melting at how bad the offense was playing.

Maybe the team will pull together and get it done. I'm just saying the only time we saw this team try to operate without him in 2026, it was ugly as ****.
A lot of that was Mensah was banged up, he wouldn’t push the ball downfield after that big hit.

couldn't say it any better

they will get the job done for Mali

Real talk tho, since this is the rah rah thread, for the short term, if this *HAS* to happen, it’s way better for it to happen midweek than during the game. Dawson has time to get in his bag. You can change the gameplan. You can clearly define roles and have kids know what to expect. It’s much, much easier to manage than this happening in the 1st quarter. Kind of what we saw in the Wake game.

2nd thing, yes Mali is unreal and this crushes us, but we’ve designed the entire offense around him. It’s not because everyone else sucks, it’s because he’s that good. So you, again with this being midweek, have an opportunity to expand the offense some and give other kids more work. We still have a lot of really, really good football players on offense. One of them being the best QB in the country. As Cribby said, ND is decimated on defense. 5 starters coming out of camp are out. Moore hasn’t played much recently. Get in their ***, bro. We got plenty of dudes to do it. Our freshmen have all been with the team for almost 11 months now. They’re not freshmen.

Longer term, we’re making the ACCCG. Which puts us 60 minutes from the playoffs. That game is in 31 days. There’s a chance Mali is back for that game. And if he’s not, we have a FULL MONTH to practice with who’s here and get better. No, we can’t win a natty without Mali. But we can beat Notre Dame. I’m **** sure of it. And the playoffs start in 6.5 weeks. There’s a shot Mali is back and good to go by then.

This sucks, but it’s not an ACL, and as much as I love Mali, it’s not our QB. Our leader is still here. He’s still got horses to feed. Go smash these dudes in the mouth this weekend, and more importantly go win the ACC and let’s get our dude back when the games matter. I’ll be there on Saturday and I’m walking into that ***** expecting to walk out with scalps. **** all the rest.

Wingo and Jacobs.

Wingo: why are we scared to see his talent shine? Last year, on a critical play in the championship game, we threw a screen to Josh Moore. It failed, but if we can try that in that spot, to a true frosh, surely Wingo can get a chance against lesser secondaries.

Jacobs: There is no reason to think a guy who torched Clemson’s secondary in 2025 is unable to stress a depleted ND secondary, Duke, BC, and VT. Give the guy a genuine chance to do what he has ALREADY done against top competition.

Since he got his guys, Mario doesn’t get blown out. The last 6 losses, maybe more, were by one score or less. That’s culture, that’s not one player. If we can keep this game close going into the 4th, I like our chances. Because this team knows how to win. If you think of how we beat UNC, yes Mali scored the game winner. But Fletcher or Mallory could have just has easily won that game if they were handed the ball. Let’s go see what this team is made of. The blueprint and the data show we will be in it to the end.
