No way we are making the playoffs

Am I crazy to say I’m much more confident in how this team would perform against any playoff teams than I am against our remaining schedule. We play up to comp and down all at the same time.
he can win big games. he cant win the bull**** ACC games. thats his issue at oregon and his issue here.

the problem is that we dont get a chance in the playoffs if he drops another ACC game which given our schedule and our issues on offense, could very much be plausible.

SOR but we have to play ND bc of the ACC deal with them when we have them scheduled.

the issue for us is the ACC as a whole is trash. you wont be getting the SOR up if you just limit to crappy non conference teams and running the ACC (which we dont do anyways). on top of that, playing ND and UF USF (this year) is what likely will save us if we take care of business. we didnt lose those games and those games helped our resume. we lose the bull**** ACC games which isnt a good conference.
I just have a hard time believing the committee will leave out a three-loss SEC team over any two-loss ACC team

I don’t think there was a scenario in which we go 11-1 and miss the playoffs. Last year we didn’t have a great SOR and just missed the playoffs at 10-2. This year we are looking at a much tougher schedule and likely still just missing the playoffs if we finish 10-2. So doesn’t seem we got much benefit from the tougher schedule and risk we took. Could’ve done like IU and just ran up the score on bad teams and gave young guys some reps but risked the L

At the end of the day they’re still going to pick SEC schools over us.

we lost to 2 ACC teams in november. that was the big issue for us.

the conference overall isnt viewed as good or competitive. that was strengthened by both ACC teams getting bowled over in the playoffs.

win the ACC games and youre good. we dont do that.

we always should run up the score once we get into ACC play bc the back half of the schedule isnt viewed as tough.

Playing up/down to the comp has been our MO for years. Whether or not it changes this year is yet to be seen.

Just have to win, starting Saturday. There's zero point in worrying about what other teams are doing, that's the least of their worries.

Realistically, they could win or lose any of their remaining games. What version of Beck shows up? Do they come out ready to play or do they come out flat and act like they've never played football before while the opposing coach schools them for 2+ drives? Are we ready for a trick play when the entire stadium is pretty sure one's coming? Backbreaking penalties or not? Does Dawson call one of his nice games or one of his poor games?

I know this team can play, I just have little faith they'll do it for a month+ straight.

Hm, so who do you need to be to make it to just MAKE the conference championship game with the most talent and the most money spent in the conference and not lose multiple times a year as a double digit favorite?
A none lame duck coach

If anyone out here really believes that Miami will run the table than you have drunk the Jim Jones Kool Aid that the program and media like D$ and Pete etc gave us in camp and previous weeks.

This team will not make the playoffs at 10-2. They need to be at 11-1 and there is no way it will happen. We have seen this before. The curse is real, plus to get these guys to be on point for 6 straight weeks is impossible for this program. This is unfortunate but prove me wrong.
Is this @fraggle's burner?

I 100% see where OP is coming from.. it's hard to have faith Mario will win the next 6 games (7 if you count the ACCCG)... Mario has to win 6 ACC games in a row where we'll be favored by double digits... 3 of the tougher games on the road against unranked teams... it's the kind of gauntlet Mario is known to fail at over and over again...

if he actually does it this time it'll be the first time he's ever done it...

Even the best year he ever had at Oregon, in 2019, he had a dud loss to an unranked Arizona State as a 2 TD favorite right in the middle of the season (Jayden Daniels vs Justin Herbert)..

2021, had a similar loss to Stanford when Oregon was ranked #3... and lost to Utah twice (got blown out both times)..

Of course we all want it to happen and hoping it does.. that's why we're fans.. but every year has been the same story for the last 20+ years for us sadly
