S/RO options are Finesse Offenses. Finesse offenses fail 9 out of 10 times when they face off against a quality team that Plays Smash Mouth/Over The Top Football.

First, Miami needs a Quality Coach. With a quality Coach, Miami will pull in the best Talent in Country. Why? It's Simple. Miami is Home (Dade/Broward/PalmBeach/State of Miami) to best Talent in Country. Running a Base S/RO Offense would undermine that elite talent.....make it finesse. Now, I have to admit that it would not be as finesse as Oregon/Clemson/Big 12 because the talent would be Better at Miami...but it would not be Smash Mouth Football and could be easily defeated by Quality Coaching!

I advocate Pro-Style/Pro-Set. Now, Gun Packages are still available when needed. Play Action is truly "in play" with PS Offenses. Anybody that has played the game, especially former LBs, know that a QB under center forces you do certain things. You guys know!

I want my QB to be a QB First...not an Athlete first. A QB that is an Athlete is fine. Most people don't know that Testaverde was an amazing Athlete...but he was a QB First!

I get that you S/RO guys want exciting football. I get it, but we can have it by running a PS System. We Just Need the Right Coach......and we will be **** Exciting! And we will watch that UM Talent Thriving in the NFL on Sundays....not wash out like all that Oregon, Clemson, Big 12 and other S/RO talent.

I am BBB Guy. No Explanation needed. Safest Hire Miami could make. With a Solid PS QB (Kaaya) already in place, Butch would make Miami a winner immediately and Stock the program with THE RIGHT TALENT.......AND DEVELOP THAT TALENT! Kaaya would receive competent Coaching! An Aggressive 4-3 D is back in play.....1 gap DTs will once again run to Miami!

I like Herman's Attitude A LOT, but he is lacking in Work Product! Herman can't help that he was just hired by Houston. Timing sucks. It would be a major risk to hire Herman. Herman is supposed to better than the last Houston Coach.....that is why he was hired! But let's not forget that Houston won 8 games in 2013 and 8 games in 2014. So, Herman did not inherit a bare cupboard!

Herman is worth watching, but he has not done anything to warrant being hired by UM. That could change though!

S/RO at Miami is COMICAL.....just like it would be at Alabama while Saban is there!

To The Fools: Be Careful And THINK before you fix your lips to say Ohio State runs a S/RO Offense!

Just because you run a spread you don't have to use read option. That's why i like eddie gran's offense at cincy. There is no tricks, it's just a uptempo attack that puts up points.

I'm not reading that whole dumb post but if you think that teams like Ohio State or Oregon don't play power football you are delusional. Those are not finesse offenses.

Saban used the read option last year and uses more tempo than he ever has.

I am with you. I am 26 but have grown up believing that the traditional ball control, physical, pro offense is the way to go. However, I am starting to reconsider a little bit. I just think about for example, what a Sam Bruce, Stacy Coley, a Joe Yearby, would do in a Dana Holgerson or Tom Herman type of offense? Sam Bruce for example I believe would be Tavon Austin 2.0 for example. I would be lying if I said that doesn't sound intriguing.

Think about what Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson did in a PS Offense at Miami! It's the Coaching, Homey!

We run a Spread Now......and our WR Route Tree is Pathetic/Horrible!

Uptempo pro style offense with an agressive 4-3 defense... That's all we need...,

Running a spread does not equate to lack of physicality. It just adds a dimension to an offense. Look at the patriots

At times.....but don't get it twisted. He had an Athletic QB, which is not the norm for him. It was never the Base O.

He is not using S/RO now!

Bad example. Patriots passing game is an extension of their running game. They prefer to pound the rock. Stop that. They Nickle and dime you with that passing game....come up...they over the Top you!

Oregon is the farthest thing from finesse, especially under Kelly they weren't. Their line is consistently one of the net and most physical in the country. Just because they run a zone blocking scheme and utilize mobile QB doesn't make them a finesse team.

Look at the top 20 total offenses in FBS...how many are pro set/drop back passer, and how many are spread/read option?

why dont you wash out vince young (beat the greatest USC team of all time), cam newton (destroyed alabama) and tim tebow (destroyed the entirety of the SEC for years). makes sense.

you know it is funny that you arent open to innovation. the spurs innovation ended the heats mini-dynasty.

Whenever they play a team with a physical front 7 they get pushed around.

I agree with you! I am more of a pro-style guy. But like I reiterated in my original post I would be lying if I said that the spread offense doesn't sound appealing. Oh and lets be clear about this.... James Coley is trash. So in that sense when you say its the coaching you are %100 right! He thinks he can take one year and learn the spread and be effective. He was groomed by Jimbo doesn't know what the **** he is doing. He was better off sticking to our old offense. Guys like Urban, Tom Herman, Leach, Holgerson, Sumlin, Fedora and etc have been doing it their entire lives have perfected the system and added their tweaks.

no they dont. do you even watch what they do. they morph their team to the opponent. some games brady throws it 50 times sometimes they run it 50 times.
