This guy has way too high an opinion of himself. In general, Manny's defense played nobody special. For goodness sake Pitt last year and LSU broke in brand new QBs and his side couldn't do jack shiit. LBs still look average. Every shiity teams ran on us at will it seems. I like my coaches to have actually played college ball or any ball for that matter. And him trying to weasel back to Miami after pledging to Temple...lol.

Fucck No. Anyone but Manny.

Do you blame him? I’d ask for the keys too.

But y’all are putting too much stock in this. Just because “some in the athletic department” (probably coaches and players) are rooting for him doesn’t mean he’s getting serious consideration from anybody that matters

why is everyone forgetting an important fact .... Diaz SIGNED A CONTRACT with Temple FFS if he tried to bail out on Temple,
his rep in coaching wouldn't be worth warm spit.

whats wrong with people ? GTFO with this "Diaz HC at Miami" bull****

why do people think Lane Kiffin is stuck at FAU and not a HC at a bigger program ? its because the dumb ****** stiffed
Tennessee and no other big program will even take a look at Kiffin to take a chance on that happening to them

why do most people on this board have ZERO critical thinking skills .... SMH

Cmon man. Our overall defense was ranked 2nd in the nation before the bowl. Our offense put us in the worst of positions all year long. I'm sure that had an effect on our numbers, made some look far worse and maybe a few better. But ****, how can you do Manny like that? He excelled at his side of the ball and he seemed like a good CEO of the defense. Project that out as a head coach and throw all the money you can to hire an innovative, proven, and hungry OC and staff, solidify the QB room with a standout transfer, and you have the recipe for a team that will immediately compete for championships.

He is a good talker, scheme is risking. He cant recruit. He is not ready to be considered for a UM type job

Don't get fooled my friend. That 2nd ranked defense was against a piece of shiit coastal division. Toledo? Lol. Manny and his 2nd ranked defense would have gotten raped by Oklahoma, Clemson, Bama, etc...

Every team has cup cakes in their schedule. Ok I'll give you we play in a lesser division, but Clemson also plays an ACC schedule. Go back to last year and include some of the games like ND if you want to compare apples to apples. I'll concede Alabama and some SEC schools defense as being better but our defense was in the top nationally regardless and definitely when factoring our atrocious offense and Manny deserves credit for that feat.

you don't stiff a school that just hired your *** and the ink isn't even dry.

I hear u friend but I'm not listening to Manny being considered elite. Lets talk again when he is fired 3-4 years from now and the bottom feeders of whatever sewer gutter conference Temple is in have already busted a train on his asss. I bet u won't bring up 2nd anymore.

He's not a proven head coach obviously, and that may be a non-starter for some. You say scheme is risky, but scheme worked for three years without elite FSU/BAMA/CLEMSON top-shelf talent at many positions and we would have been in playoffs if we had had an average offense. You say he can't recruit, but does he need to personally recruit or should his position coaches be the ones driving recruiting? Miami has underacheavied in recruiting because of their record since the 10-0 start last year and that's solely the fault of MR and the offensive staph. Otherwise, we would have most, if not all, elite soFL defensive recruits locked up and we did for some time before all the losing compounded this yr. Manny has proven his defense works and his staff can recuit! If team is hitting on all cylinders with offense and winning, top talent will come.

Worming out of a freshly signed contract is a Fatal flaw in character..

Happens all the time man. See Josh McDaniels last year. He actually went the extra mile and started hiring coaches. But guess who is the leading candidate for the Green Bay job? So yah, did not hurt him.

Manny did great things for us but no thanks for him as HC. Also if your Manny how do you not read the situation better and ask richt how much longer he might be here im sure they would've named him HCIW if he stayed.
