It's not the loss that bothers most fans; it's the WAY we lost. There's nothing dumb or panicky about pointing out how awful our showing was. In fact, it's kind of dopey to act like it's just a loss to a better team. We got completely dog walked. Old Urine lost to Alabaga, and their fans should be very content after that game. It's not the getting psyched that bothered me, it's the belief that a loss is an indication that the sky is falling that I don't understand.
Lol. Getting chilly.Hows the weather up there Joey?
Roche was way off sides and was off sides 4-5 more times after that and the ref did not call it. Believe it or not refs hate to call that stuff. Right up there with wide receivers covering TE's. They are out there trying to give the benefit of the doubt. They have to call the obviousI wonder if things would’ve went a little differently had Roche’s toenail wasn’t offsides. We would’ve still lost but may have been more competitive.
https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/clemson-defensive-numbers-thus-far.164087/post-4890608You thought we were going to get beat down like that? That we would completely no show on offense? That we wouldn't move the ball at all and have as many penalty yards and offensive yards for much of the game?
Not going to read all those, but I'd be shocked if you thought we were going to get dog walked like that. I expected us to lose but to show up and compete and make some noise on offense. I knew Lawrence and ETN and the boys would get theirs, but I thought we'd show up on offense.https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/clemson-defensive-numbers-thus-far.164087/post-4890608

Don't be scared now - Clemson Safety Review, it begins
Only thing I like is that the Clemson Defense has yet to be tested They’ve played really inferior teams and simply dominated from the first whistle until the last King and Lashlee seem to be humming and I still believe we’ve barley cracked open the playbook biggest thing will be stopping...www.canesinsight.com

31 Points (significance of that number)
This morning I was looking at the stats and kept eyeing the 31 point total for us. Couldn't figure out if it bothered me or was acceptable for our opening game. Then I realized that both @DMoney and @Roman Marciante have mentioned that with this defense playing well, 31 points in 2019 would...www.canesinsight.com
What I said leading up to the game in multiple threads.

No argument there. It was not a good game at all. I don't think that predicting failure the rest of the season is justified though. It's not the loss that bothers most fans; it's the WAY we lost. We just had flash back of the last 15 years man, we just thought we would see the whole team compete and be out in place to use our players a talent, but throw deep ball after deep ball or run in between tackle on ever play. It's not the getting psyched that bothered me, it's the belief that a loss is an indication that the sky is falling that I don't understand.
Have you watched our team over the past 15 years, I pray I’m wrong. I want to be wrong so bad!!!No argument there. It was not a good game at all. I don't think that predicting failure the rest of the season is justified though.
I know. I was a little too much of a flashback for me also. It's really scary to think that we might be spinning our wheels still, but we've seen flashes, so cautious optimism is still warranted. Pitt will tell us a lot.Have you watched our team over the past 15 years, I pray I’m wrong. I want to be wrong so bad!!!
I didn’t watch the FIU game, was at my daughters play and recorded it. Didn’t have any concern about losing and gasped when I saw the score. But I watched LA Tech and they straight up quit. They seemed to quit vs Duke too. They definitely quit vs FIU & La Tech.
Clemson hasn't lost a game @ Death Valley in 4 years & Trevor Lawrence was 32-1 coming into the game.
Idk wtf people on this board expected, I warned mf's all **** week that this was gonna be an extremely tough game but people just psyched themselves up into delusion.
We definitely didn't quit, we were just outmatched & there wasn't anything that could be done about it.
As long as we get everybody healthy as we begin the Coastal (even though there's no Coastal this year) stretch of the season we'll be fine. Aside from UNC, we don't face any other Offenses that pose a great threat.
The issue will come down to Baker not being a complete dunce & rallying this Defense into to playing more discipline & playing with more urgency, he has the bodies, he just needs to pull his head out of his *** & get them better prepared.
Pitt has a tough Defense but Miami can beat them, they're not anywhere near as talented as Clemson, just have play smart & stop shooting ourselves in the foot with dumb penalties.
I just read through the posts, and the overall vibe was that you gave us a chance but felt Clemson was the better team. I felt the same exact way before the game. You cautioned against thinking it would be an easy game against their D.Only posted them to provide evidence that I wasn't just saying it in my comment just to be saying it.
