No parking allowed at camping world stadium!!!

The Geico (Orlando Magic) garage is a LONG way away, though there will be shuttles.

This whole thing is very simple.

1. Bring cash.
2. Drive around the stadium until you find the price you want to pay for parking.

Couldn't be easier.

What’s that shuttle system like? Have you ever taken it or heard any comments about it?

I’m still probably doing an Uber to the stadium and probably an Uber out of that Jones high school area, because that seems like that’ll be an area where the traffic will break up at least a little bit. Enough to catch an Uber. But I am considering one of those remote garages, hence the question about the shuttle.

I have done the shuttle numerous times, and it should be fine. Before the Orlando City Soccer stadium was built, we played in the Citrus Bowl/Camping World Stadium. Soccer has a whole "march to the match" tradition, so a lot of people would park downtown and take the shuttle over. Before it was demolished, the old police station (corner of Church & Hughey) was the easternmost stop, and it was right next to the Orlando Magic Arena. Lynx (Orlando bus service) has traditional mass transit buses that run for the shuttles, so it's not bad at all, it is very much like what we used to have at the Orange Bowl.

I mentioned this once on another thread, but the bus shuttles will run a long rectangle down Church Street along the south side and Central Boulevard along the north side. The loading/unloading areas will be near Church Street/Orlando Magic arena and Lake Lorna Doone Park near the stadium. I have also seen the buses stop along Central Boulevard for people who park in certain city lots near FAMU Law School.

I will definitely post more information closer to game time. I freely admit, Orlando needs to take over the parking lots around the stadium and do a better job of selling the spaces, but there will be plenty of other options too, from cash-lots/walking to downtown-parking/pedicabs.

For future reference for all, it is approximately 1.1 miles from the Orlando Magic arena to the football stadium. Plan accordingly.

The Jones HS situation isn't bad, I only have a question for POST-GAME on where they will let the Ubers pick people up.

If I park kinda close to the stadium, I am considering the lots that are right by the Orlando City Soccer stadium, as I park in them nearly every week or two. There is one called the Orange Lot that I just used yesterday.

Is the shuttle loop you’re talking about the same one that they sent a picture of in the email from the ticket people at UM?

Also in the same email, if I recall correctly they mention that the rideshare pick up and drop off area was at Jones high school. I’m sure that means Uber as well.

Long ways for you. Parking around camping world sucks.

I’ve done both and I enjoyed the shuttle ride more. Especially if it’s after the W.

Oh, man, I totally forgot about that e-mail, I didn't even read it.

I just pulled it up, and it (basically) looks like what I described, but instead of using Church Street, it looks like buses will go both east and west along Central Boulevard. I'm not sure why Church Street will not be used, there is no soccer game on Saturday (there is one on Friday night).

That big white square just above where it says "W Church Street" is the soccer stadium. The "Orange Lot" where I park is the little white rectangle on the SW corner of Central Boulevard and Terry Avenue. During soccer games, there is an outdoor popup bar right there called Yard Bar, it's a lot of fun. Also, the FAMU/courthouse/Orlando parking lots that I was talking about are those 3 white boxes just above Central Boulevard, near the "official" loading/unloading area shown on the east side of the map.

Now that I am looking at the map, GEICO isn't a bad spot. I would PROBABLY say that the stuff underneath I-4...may or may not be available. Most of that is NOT available currently, due to I-4 construction, but it MIGHT be open around August. I think that the parking lot map is a bit outdated, as the parking to the north of the Magic arena is also gone, due to construction.

The big P parking areas near the SunRail stop (closest to the Magic arena) are pretty good, because the SunTrust parking garage is connected to Church Street. I used to work in the SunTrust Tower, and it was great if you were planning to hit bars/restaurants along Church Street and Orange Avenue.

The little P parking area just to the north of SunTrust Tower is for an apartment tower called 55 West. Whenever the Orange Lot sells out, I usually park at 55 West, because it has an elevator that comes out on Church Street right by the Rusty Spoon/Artisan's Table. Again, a great spot if you plan to pre-game/post-game on Church/Orange/Wall Street.

I believe that the small P parking area just NW of 55 West is a surface lot. I have used it before, but they haven't been listing it for soccer games lately (at least for pre-sale, though you can probably pay cash).

The northernmost spot is close to Ace Cafe. I guess I can say it now, but the Alumni Association was working on renting out Ace Cafe for the Friday night and Saturday pre-game events, but UM has dragged their feet so much, I don't know that it's still an option (though we are having an Alumni Association event there on May 22). It is an amazingly cool facility, it has a British motorcycle theme, and they have great food/drinks in a HUUUUGE facility.

The southernmost parking is really much more convenient to the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. If you do park there, I would walk through the SunTrust garage to get out to Church Street.

It's up to each person.

Lots of people don't remember the old Orange Bowl parking and what that was like.

The pre-game shuttle will be full of marshmallow-soft Gaytor fans talking smack.

Speaking only for myself, I don't mind walking in that area, I'm from Orlando, but crossing 441 is a pain in the butt.

Got this **** on Friday and bought a parking pass. Assuming there will be meet up spots to tailgate. I hope anyway

Most of the "Florida Citrus Sports" parking lots will not be available to the public. Most of them are garbage. I parked in Lot 9 "Thunder Field" for the Guns N Roses concert and it took 90 minutes just to get to a surface street.

If you notice, most of the lots around the stadium only have one way in/one way out, and traffic after the game will be brutal.

Also, you have to hope that it doesn't rain that weekend. Most of those lots are unpaved (some of which were used for the Spring Game, like Lots 7 and 9), and when it rains, they become muddy as ****.

Just go with a "private" lot along Tampa Avenue, particularly north of the stadium. I know of a very big yard on the east side of Tampa, just north of Lake Lorna Doone.

1. If you are just getting in/out and are staying/partying elsewhere (Disney, etc.), you may want to park near the stadium.
2. If you are pre-gaming/post-gaming downtown, park near I-4.

Still think I’m doing an Uber in and out of Jones high school

How will the traffic be around Jones high school, in your opinion?

I'm not going to lie, about a week ago, there was some big accident/shooting that shut down traffic on John Young, so I took Google Maps through that Jones High School area, and it wasn't ideal, since a lot of intersections don't have traffic lights.

Having said that, Jones HS is south of the East-West Expressway, and I would recommend leaving the Jones parking lot and heading south on either 441 or Rio Grande FIRST, instead of IMMEDIATELY trying to jump on the East-West. You can catch I-4 heading south on 441 and you will have missed a lot of the traffic that is immediately stacked up around the stadium. There is ongoing construction at I-4 and East-West that is so bad, that even I don't know which lanes to take (especially at 11 pm at night).

There is construction at I-4 and 441 too, but it is not NEARLY AS BAD as what you have at the East-West and I-4. Every day that I go through there, I see near-accidents or actual accidents. Brutal.

To anyone really familiar with the Orlando downtown area ... are there open parking lots in that area? Or are most of the parking for the game in garage type parking lots? Trying to do my own tailgating n drinking n loud *** music just don’t know how strict the cops are ? Or if there’s any room for that shenanigans..

The best "open" lots (i.e., tailgating) are around the Orlando City Soccer stadium. Most of the stuff in downtown would be parking garages.

I am not sure what time they will open, but there are definitely lots to the north of Central (around Division and Terry roads) where they will let you tailgate, people do it for the soccer games.

Thanks my brother ! Tickets to that lot is being sold by UM? Or is that a pull up on the day of the game type of deal?

I'm going to have to check. The Orlando parking lots are an uncoordinated patchwork, I'm not sure who runs those lots. I was looking into things for a minute for the Alumni Association, then we thought we had something with Ace Cafe, and then UM dragged their feet.

As I mentioned elsewhere, those lots will be open Friday night for OCSC soccer, but I'm not sure about Saturday. Those lots are cash/credit card, no prepay (that I've seen on the City of Orlando parking site). The only prepay lot in that area that I've seen listed is the "Orange Lot" that I mentioned previously, I park there regularly for soccer. When I forget to prepay, I go to the lots that would allow tailgating on the north side of Central.

I'll also reach out to my friend on Florida Citrus Sports, he should definitely know about tailgating, he's been active with these bowl games for over a decade. He's the same guy who told me the game was being moved to August 24th long before UM announced it.
