GREAT MOVE! Forget the gaudy chains, rings, sideline dancing, whatever. JUST WIN BABY! The Canes Swagger is knowing that on game day, they are the best on the field, ready to play, and ready to win.
Lol. Forget the military fatigues, dancing on the field after a first down, shooting finger pistols after a TD, committing the most penalties in the history of a bowl game, making a rap song, I could go on....the audacity of fans to pretend that Miami hasn't always been "flashy" and "in your face" is so hilarious. There was literally a "Miami rule" made because of all the show boating we did. But yeah, "good riddance" to a quick positive reinforcement and quick sideline gratitude as if it was some type of poison that prevented Manny from playing good defense or recruiting linebackers. The Chain is why Bama beat us by 30 or why UNC had over 9000 yards

It's the right move for now. That 2017 season with it was magical though. That ND and UNC game will always have a special place in my canes heart.
Maybe we can bring it back in some capacity in the future somehow? I don't know, I did really enjoy it when we were winning.

Not gonna lie, just imagine how much fun the turnover chain would be if we were actually good though.

/whispers/ I hope Mario brings it back if we become a top 10-15 program as we all anticipate within 2-3 years.

The chain set the national trend (EVERY team came up with a turnover prop after us), put UMs brand at the forefront in 2017 and it had magic powers at times (FSU game in 2018 when we made the big 2nd half comeback with Nkosi..the chain set off the domino effect) but we just held on to it too long. Should have buried it after 2018.

That said, and I get Mario wants to wipe Mannys existence from the UM program..but I wouldnt throw them in the trash either. They are apart of our history. Keep them in Hecht football museum somewhere.

Btw... Mario had the perfect explanation for not wanting the chain anymore.

Pretty much to sum it up : the seconds it takes worrying about a chain, are seconds we can use to learn how to block better.

Lol he definitely said a bit more but I just love that part.
