They might need that spot for the Portal. They’d give it up for Maason Smith but not Collins. That seems like a possibility to me.

I learned nearly 20 years ago not to get excited at all when we're after top tier talent from that state. Should he remain healthy, I have zero doubt this guy is in the NFL in three years.

I never expected Smith however people on the board seemed to imply that Baker was the only chance we had to land him since he was working for a while. Now that he’s out there’s no reason to keep Baker although I’m sure manaulo out thinks different

We have Haye and LT signed, the two better prospects. Collins was dropped because of a lazy work ethic in HS. Those kinds almost NEVER pan out in college. Plus this gives us another slot for the portal free agency when it hits. Dropping collins was necessary imo.
