I initially was really hyped because I think he's a great coach and offensive mind, and he's at the level we need here at Miami!

However; I just can't see the guy staying for more than a year, two max if everything goes as planned. He's already been a HC, so you know he still aspires to prove himself in that respect.

Miami needs to be a destination job, not a stepping stone! If Manny is successful, he will be here a long time, this is his dream job!

We need young, enthusiastic, smart, hard working guys who are willing to stay 3-5 years and build this program yet, I think Manny needs to find guys willing to commit to the U and not just the ones looking to raise their national profile.

I love his hires for S&C and D Coordinator, exactly what we need!

Wouldve been able to teach alot to the staff in place in those couple of yrs. Hopefully, so can the hire we bring can do so as well.

a coordinator only staying for a year or two means you are bringing in top level coaches and is generally a good thing not a bad thing. See bama for a reference.

Eh, I think it's a mixed bag, this program needs stability which Bama already has maybe in 3-5 if we are back to consistent national prominence then I could see that. The last thing we need is the floor falling out from under us just as we get back into post season contention.

If Fedor left after 2 years, it probably was because he went Alabama-turkey leg deep in the ACC honey-pot, so I would have gladly taken that ferocious mercenary of a man to instill some much needed testosterone into this offense after having suffered through the Richt energy vampire. But that ship has sailed I suppose.

Agreed, don't get me wrong I love what he brings to the table, I just think he'd be pulling the rug out from under us in 12 months and we're back at the search and minus half the staff, and who knows how many recruits? Don't need him making inroads in recruitment down here the peacing on us.

This wouldve been a pitstop for Fedora here. We are better served with the young, innovative up and comer OC that will be here for a few years. I see you Major!

When your assistants are not getting plucked for better jobs you know you are hiring the wrong guys...unless they don't want to leave like the Clemson DC

What I think he was turning to say was he sees Fedora as kind of like an opportunist who will jump ship the minute he can as where Applewhite will want to plant some kind of roots and want to build something for the next 3-5 years.

You said it more succinctly than I did, thank you!

So you rather Fedora comes here, builds up his staff then takes half of them in a year when he's offered the next HC gig? I'll pass on that!

If Fedora did such a good job that he gets poached after one season, it means we probably won the Coastal and had a great season.

It also means we’d land a great class.
It also means Manny made a great hire.

So yes, the way Saban and Meyer don’t care about losing coordinators, if we want to be elite, we shouldnt either. I want dudes killing it so much that programs are banging down their door to make them head coaches.
