again, no one on earth says you shouldn't be balanced. the issue is you dont have to force balance when you can't do it. we aren't a run team. we dont have that OL.

We ran the ball on TAMU...2-3 weeks ago everyone was saying we were run only. And couldn't pass.

I don't think we know just what we are yet. But yes I agree the lack of run vs. UNC was alarming, but I think 57/24 was more than acknowledging that. Even though some of that was comeback mode and it wouldn't have been that extreme if we weren't... I don't fault us for running in the 1q. Overall we got off it fairly quickly.

What would our offenses pronouns be?

I have to go back and rewatch but I dont believe atm stacked the box that game. they seemed to have played a big bend dont break style. again, it was still a good game by the OL and DL (tho their O is horrific)

Pretty much The entire coaching staff was talking to him at the Watsco Center Sat a.m...so there's that...
I'm sure Butch still has a keen eye for talent. I'd love to see him as a consultant in the recruiting department.

You know more than anyone if you go back and watch those UM teams from 2000-2003 that you're going to see speed, athleticism, explosion, power and size. We haven't looked anything like that since then and Butch is the last link to those teams since he built them.

I was watching the 2001 team play WVU in the OB and it's night and day in all aspects. For example we had a criminally underrated safety on that team named James Lewis. So I'm watching James Lewis get a pick 6 and I was just struck by his build. He looked 10 times more imposing than any of our LBs on the current team. Lewis was filled out for his body type but he also has that speed, power and twitchy explosiveness that these guys on the team today could only dream of. Would love for Butch to come clean on what his special sauce was.

He did the same from 84-88 for JJ....He was JJs go to guy in ref to recruiting, long before what he did from 95-2000. People need to realize, it was Butch who closed on most of the recruits from 84-88...not just the kids from 95-2000. Add them all together, and in my opinion he's the premier Evaluator, recruiter and developer in the History of CFB. 25 -1st rounders from 95-2004 (the last yr of his kids) and God only knows how many more he was responsible for from 84-88. And we're talking both Offensively & Defensively.

I'm not sure this note from Gattis was all that difficult to discern. He is stating what we all have been saying. We can't run the ball therefore we passed a ton to get yards and that is not acceptable ideally. Look a bit deeper before overreacting.

Special sauce usually means some combo of insanely good genetics + PED's

plenty hard to run the ball when you dont have a mauling OL and still try to run through a stacked line with everyone collapsing in. maybe integrate new run schemes?

Our offensive line looked a lot crisper the first three games. It has kinda come unhinged these last two. Wierd.
