No bueno. Disney/ESPN outbids CBS for SEC football

Vandy says hi.

So does Kentucky.
So Vandy has the same history as we do? If the SEC brought us into their conference with the understanding that we were committed to football and proceeded to cash SEC checks without so much as a lifting a finger to be relevant then yeah we’d have gotten replaced imo.

Vandy was in the SEC before it became the powerhouse it is today. Kentucky is a basketball power, they doesn’t need to win at football.

Try again.

Top heavy league when one really thinks about it. Mississippi? MS State? Missouri? Arkansas? Consistently making sure Bama, LSU, and Georgia come in undefeated or with one loss. Florida and Tennessee sputtering for years. Auburn occasionally in it if they hit on a qb.

ACC’s problem is just that Miami and FSU aren’t able to get their heads out of their asses. Neither should be picking coaches this poorly. Maybe FSU has a winner. We don’t. Groundhog Day. 🙄

If the SEC had brought us in, world might be different. Fear of getting booted and losing big bucks motivates. ACC seems content to wait for the inevitable rise. You don’t not rise again with all this local talent. It is being retarded by incompetent coaches. But it will happen.

Like everything else in life if you get your **** in order you’ll be handsomely rewarded. SEC has done wonders for their conference, they deserve every penny.

If we were allowed in the SEC back in 2004/2005 and we **** the bed like we have for 15 years, we would’ve been replaced by now.
If Miami was in the SEC we would control south Florida recruiting. Miami would not be where we are today.

Hmmm thats huge tho. It pushes the marquee games of 330 or 8pm back. One less option to have full exposure. Abs/espn is going to have so much money invested in the sec that everything will be sec on it

Also gives each sec team at least an extra 20 million in warchest
How many marque games does the Sec have a year
UGA/UF
Bama/LSU
UGA/SCar
Tenn/Kentucky??
UF/Kentucky?
A&M/LSU
Auburn/Bama or LSU

the crossover LSU/UF from time to time..not really that much for ABC to just forget about everything else

I don't know how to cut and paste. Multiple outlets reporting this.

More $$$ for the SEC --$300 million plus per season, up from $55 million.

Less exposure for other conferences. Starts after 2023 season but there are reports DIsney may buy out CBS contract ASAP.

The rich get richer

Anyone paying attention knew that the game had changed exponentially when ESPN cut their deal with the SEC.

Don't go all full Muppet here.

Since 2001, Miami and Vandy aren't all that different really.

People keep harping on Miami this, Miami that. Our Canes face far more headwinds that what is often talked about.

- Small school, small fan base, no T Boone Pickens/Red McCombs benefactor (although Soffers generous...just not like that)
- State of Miami is no more...embrace it...other region's demographics have caught up, and will continue to do so as more people move there
- "I want to see the world"...State of Miami existed pre-internet, pre-the world is small...Miami could win a natty every year and still lose tons of top talent today from SoFL because kids want to see something other than SoFL...good for them
-- Want to keep them here...need Urban or Saban...and they are both 1/10000000 personalities...like JJ...like Butch
- Miami, IF they can even stay in ACC next 20 years is now, and will be, Vandy-TCU-SMU level

- Kentucky is an upper tier BBall program...and slipping...the times they are a changing...
- Same for Duke, UNC, etc....
