N'Kosi Perry = A Star is Born

13-32, rosier would've been crucified
So, add in at least 4 dropped balls. That's 17/32. To be at 66%, we're talking about completing 4 more passes for 21/32. You gotta look at the game not just the stats. Perry was harrassed all game. His clock was sped up where he made a few bad throws. He settled down and made the plays we needed to win.

It was only his 2nd start in the biggest game of the season. Having gone thru the pressure cooker, I'm expecting him to grow from the experience and return to form. Having this experience will give him confidence against VT and Clemson down the road.

I've accepted that it's Richt's offense that attributes to the low completion %. He had the same thing at UGA. His passing scheme is so pathetic and simple to gameplan for, and defend.

All of those old 90's offense had QBs who completed anywhere from 50-58%. Today, modern spread offenses, QBs are closer to 58-65%.

This. Rosier and Perry are the symptom, not the disease.

Richt's offense is completely static with no design to it. He just lines up athletes and hopes that they win their matchups, and the OL protects, and the QB executes, etc. In crucial red zone and 3rd down situations he calls for iso fades/slants to Cager or slants to Wiggins. No deception, no misdirection, no advantage created through formation or alignment, nothing. His offense truly hasn't evolved from the 90s aside from the occasional static RPO bubble screen. It was totally jarring to watch the modern spectacle of offensive football displayed in the Texas-OU game and then see Richt's Jurassic embarrassment of an offense.

Perry has elite arm talent. That's the difference between him and Rosier right now. The vertical throws Rosier missed are thrown with perfect placement by Perry. Perry still has the same issues with processing the defense, executing reads with timing/precision, and navigating the pocket (somewhat excusable given the edge rush he was facing). Again some of that can be attributing to Richt for putting Perry in 3rd and longs and designing 4-verts concepts without a natural progression or safety valve checkdown. But other times Perry had a clean pocket and an initial read open but failed to stay poised in the pocket and deliver the ball on time, resulting in sacks and wild scrambles. None of that is uncommon for a young QB in a mess of an offense but it's a reminder that Perry has strengths and weaknesses which the staff needs to do a better job of accommodating i.e. more simplified 1-read concepts created through design.

It's gonna be a long season if this crap doesn't change and I hope it doesn't reach the point where the fans have to fly banners to get a new OC.

Perry looked and played nervous especially early on but when he had to make the throws in pressure situations he absolutely came through I point back to the 2 4th down perfect throws to Cager for touchdowns in an all or nothing situation. 2 elite throws the back shoulder to Jeff Thomas for a touch down, and another that led to the Brevin Jordan td(which was also a great play by Perry). Another elite ball was to Cager before the first half was over. He definitely has some arm talent just needs a little more confidence and he will be more than fine
