N'Kosi Perry = A Star is Born

4 TDs doesn't move the needle for ya?

:rk5i6fxwjlgev5j6.jpg:

With no picks

Made a couple plays with his legs

Took care of the ball for the most part, considering the pressure he was under.

Money in the clutch

Goin up against a defense that was playing for their lives

Making his only 2nd start in a game we absolutely had to win. Needs improvement ?, of course. But I would be more concerned if I never saw him make the throws that he missed today. He will get better. Then the off will be lethal.

I love Cager as an individual as I know he puts his heart into this U. But the truth is when the moment is big he often sputters and folds. That’s not to say he’s incapable but he doesn’t have a calm demeanor. I think the freaking out after dropped balls gets in his head.

Perry may have enough room for improvement (with a high ceiling) that Weldon and Williams deserve a serious look and chance, but his mature non-panicked performance when we were looking at a huge upset down 20 was very impressive. He held it together, and made lots of plays that were critical without choking. Hard not to be very pleased with his performance overall (and a win) despite some soft stats.

Depending on how we finish this season will be very telling. I think Jarren Williams will not stop pushing Perry to be on point each and every week. I really feel like Jarren is the real deal.

13-32, rosier would've been crucified

Last year Rosier was 19-44 in this game and it was nothing but love after because he produced when it mattered. Same thing here with Perry but let's hope we see progress with him. Issue with Rosier is that he never got better.

How crazy is it that our QBs are 40% the last 2 years and we won both games.

Needs to be more consistent with throws but on a few throws he threw some dimes and made plays when we needed them the most.
This is an elite throw

Made a few nice throws when it mattered...other than that, defense bailed the **** out of us this game...it got to a point to where i was happy we were punting in the 4th qtr

So, he ending up being like Rosier last year but not as good a runner? Oh, crap I am in for it now!

Keep it in perspective. He did a nice job for a freshmans in his second start against our biggest rival. He wasn’t great, but I didn’t expect him to be. He did drop a couple clutch dimes and operated the offense pretty well. He can build off this.

Make no mistake though. The defense was absolutely lights out and won this game for us.

He played great from the middle of the 3rd quarter on. It was his first start in the rivalry so I’m sure nerves were a factor. Richt could have done a better job in the beginning giving him some easy throws like he did against FIU. Perry could have helped himself and the offense by keeping the ball and running it a few times instead of handing the ball off to the RB every time. FSU wasn’t even respecting the possibility of him running. The were crashing down on our RBs all game.

He will be much better next year against them and I’m sure he will continue to progress this year. He made some extremely clutch throws that show the talent he has. I think he showed a lot of character and determination this game.

Rosier doesn't make those throws by Perry in a million years. I am certain that we would have lost yesterday with Rosier.
Nobody is advocating for Roiser over Perry. Actually, the whole QB situation is an indictment of Jon Richt. Dude has zero business being the QB coach. On no other P5 college football team would this guy be the QB coach. We don’t even have a QB recruit this year because the guy put all of his eggs into one kid who didn’t want to play for him!

No. Perry didn't do **** tonight;l
Of what use is it if defense gives offense the ball and offense does not capitalize? Perry and his offense capitalized with some great pass and catch. So equal kudos to offense and defense. This is why football is a team sport.

He grew up a lot tonight, looked very nervous but after the W you couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
Problem is we have some road games coming up and he is going to have to continue to improve.

Has it not been said that stats are for loosers? How so true this is. Would u have rather preferred Perry going 28 of 33 with 4 TDs with a loss, or his not so glamorous stats of yesterday and a win?

I've accepted that it's Richt's offense that attributes to the low completion %. He had the same thing at UGA. His passing scheme is so pathetic and simple to gameplan for, and defend.

All of those old 90's offense had QBs who completed anywhere from 50-58%. Today, modern spread offenses, QBs are closer to 58-65%.
