NIL Understanding? and Tier Ranking

I saw Lance @Lance Roffers post yesterday about the Tiers and infrastructure of the NIL? Very curious if those in the know (@DMoney, @Cribby etc.) can talk and expand on this more and why we are behind the 8 ball a little. I am not even thinking of Ruiz as we all know he's got his own sort of issues, but would be great to understand more on why we've fallen behind some of the bigger players? Given Miami is the hottest city to move to, more opportunities, more people to market, etc. I would naturally assume we bring a lot of cache to that. Also we are seeing a huge influx of wealthy and new businesses in the area. But overall can you expand on what that infrastructure looks like and how we compare? Also the tiers? Thanks.

Unless you have Johnny Manziel or someone like that most of the kids are a losing investment. So the whole Miami business thing is blown out of proportion.
 
NIL isn’t an investment, we need to drop the pretense. It’s a way to legally pay players.

Our recruiting is a dumpster fire because we’re not paying. Would you take s job for less money? These kids are no different. You want to know who is paying the most, look at the schools recruiting the best and there’s your answer.

Winning on the field changes nothing. Development means nothing. Relationships mean nothing. The only thing that drives recruiting is bags, plain and simple

The only question that needs to be asked is how much do Miami and Miami’s boosters want to win? Right now, apparently the answer is less than UF or FSU. Miami isn’t invested in football and that’s evident in our recruiting class
 
So my question is, are the boosters waiting for a return on the investment before giving more money and what is the acceptable return?

But, I guess, last year they wanted to win? C'mon man. Winning absolutely makes it easier to recruit top, 5 star guys. As many have said here, including @Cribby, there is no "suck tax" added on for teams like UGA, OSU, Alabama, etc. Revamping your staff after going 5-7 in year 1 is not a good look. The suck tax is currently high. If we have a decent year, and for example, UF has a terrible year, I can see the pendulum swinging back in our favor--but we're always going to have to battle top teams for top talent. That's just the way it is.

John Ruiz wanted to win, yes. Now that well has dried up and apparently all we got left is the “E before W” types we had before Ruiz showed up.

I don’t give a **** how rich these donors are - if they aren’t spending it on NIL then it doesn’t benefit us at all so who ******* cares about you.

I don’t need any insider to tell me what’s right in front of me. Our recruiting is dog ****. The checks aren’t being cut and there’s no hiding it.

And I don’t frankly give a single **** about the excuses as to why…. If it’s a “suck tax” then pay the ******* tax and dig yourself out of this hole, or you might as well expect to pay the suck tax every year from now on because the only way that goes away is if we win big, and the only way we win big is if we can recruit big.
