NIL " CLUBS"

As I said awhile ago “ Miami is one of the few teams doing everything by the book. LW is a legit business that was around before all of the NIL stuff happened“. Yet nobody is talking about **** like this.

Yet nobody is talking about **** like this.

Let me ask you this because my mind has changed on some of this stuff recently. Plenty of influential people get paid a lot of money to go places and speak. A tangential example would be LeBron James, who can charge $500,000+ as a speaking fee. If a bunch of Alabama fans want to hear Bryce Young speak, and are willing to pay to do so, how is that any different? Young is a Heisman winner and is the top of the sport he plays. I don't know how you could ever argue that isn't name, image, and likeness and you have market precedent for value.

Obviously it will also be used as a way to funnel money but my point is it will be very hard to prosecute that. Unless I'm missing something about NIL laws.

I don't see this lower level collective/club stuff lasting too long. It's new, people are into it but over time the average fan is not going to contribute a grand or so a year to subsidized current players with nothing in return. Especially when these guys start making a mill plus a year and Joe Shmo is pulling in $60k from his 9-5.

Let the average fan support the program through ticket sales, merchandise, maybe athletic department memberships etc. Upper level boosters, actual businesses etc is what will drive NIL long term. UM will be positioned well.
