Yes, the Adidas contract runs through the end of the 2027-2028 Season.

So was listening to one of the canes blogs and they said Mario and money not an issue but somehow Nike was an obstacle.

Anyone know what that could mean?

I know Mario is very appreciative of what Phil Knight and Nike has done for him in giving him a P5 coaching opportunity and providing plenty of financial resources.

As a sort of pay back to Knight for what he’s done be that Mario asks for UM go back to Nike as part of the negotiations?

If that’s the case what are the legal and financial repercussions breaking the contract with ADIDAS?

The Adidas deal goes for another 6 or so years and unless Nike is backing up a Brinks truck to Miami(Which they aren't, they treated Miami as second class, even when things were going well from 2000-2004), there's no point in having the conversation. It's amazing how many of our fans jock Nike, when they did everything they could to ***** the University over. They gave us that final uniform template, which was complete trash in a contract year, and then tried to low ball the University, hoping that the school would be stupid enough to take it.

Listen to this guy he knows of what he speaks.

People on here would leave a dime on the floor to pick up a nickle. Nike won't care about us until we show we can win, while Adidas has been treating us well and paying top dollar for our underperforming program. That loyalty deserves to be rewarded.

Why could it not be part of the Mario deal? This would be a way of sweetening the deal for Knight to at least get something in return for letting go Mario.

Actually the uniform change to a more traditional template was implemented with Golden believe it or not. Mark put his stamp on it tho but changes to a more traditional look were already in the works.
