If only our games still mattered this much that we can talk about one play that makes or breaks your season. Been a long time since I've had that feeling.

Just look at the defensive numbers. Bama hasn't been able to stop a good offensive team in two seasons now. Yes they won 10 games against the dregs of their schedule. But they are getting exposed by every good team they play.

6 of their last 15 games were played vs ranked teams.
Points given up:
UGA-28
OU- 34
Clemson- 44
TA&M- 28
LSU- 46
Auburn- 48

They are 3-3 in those games, giving up 38 ppg.
They are still very good, but, "very good" is not what Bama was.

Tua's little brother is there and a lot of people that know say he has a better arm. Bama has plenty left in the tank and when Saban restocks his coaching staff they will be back in the mix next year .

College football has had multiple cycles of dominant great teams over the last 20 years:

Miami, USC, UF, FSU and now Clemson. Bama was a constant through most of that time, until now.

Inevitably players get complacent and think they're going to win just because they put on that team's uniform. The hunger and drive to be the best starts to wane and those teams inevitably start to crash and burn.

Bama is finally there imo.

Will be interesting to see where Saban goes from here.

With the exception of one year, every Bama NC cane from one of two coaches -- The Bear and Satan. In between that suffer much like we have lately. Once Saban leaves or fades, they will slide back until they find another god.
