Listening to the “Leavitt to the U” emergency pod, Pete mentioned Nick Rolovich. This is a OC I would absolutely love to take over whenever Dawson gets his own job. Reading through the tea leaves based off what Pete said I’d assume there might be some interest. Thoughts?

Do you think they would mesh some of their running scheme with Rolovich run and shoot style. I know his style was different than Leach since he brought in more running packages that Leach. Rolovich passing concepts seems hard to stop but with our running game mixed in seems like it could be a matchup nightmare for teams. And I believe when Rolovich was at Washington State they caught the attention of Mario at Oregon. Seems like a natural connection there if Dawson leaves.
 
Would be interesting to see how a run and shoot scheme off the June Jones tree would blend with Mario / Mirabal. He incorporated a lot of Pistol formation from his time with Chris Ault in Nevada and then blended in RPO as well. Doesn't seem like a natural fit but he is pretty good at adapting the scheme.

Was around the Hawaii program back when he played there, good dude. Timmy Chang is now doing some fun things out there this year. Carrying on that run and shoot legacy

You can implement the Air Raid with the run schemes that Mario secretly loves.

You can't do it with the Run and Shoot. The fundamentals of that offense bite completely with what Mario wants.

And I'm a gigantic Run and Shoot fan. It's my favorite offensive tree. But we'd have to change radically in regards to player profiles and I doubt that Mario will be a fan.

How did that work out?

90% of the fanbase blames him for Beck's poor decisions & wants him fired/replaced.

Bringing in another Air Raid/Run & Shoot high octane guy & forcing him to meld his system with the Little Despot of OLandia is just going to result in another OC being scapegoated.

You can't bring in a High Octane OC unless he has total autonomy on his system installation, play calls & personnel.
