Nick Roberts

I still don't understand the obsession with Nick Roberts. Tape just doesn't impress me. As a Plan B, okay sure. But people act like he's a can't-miss prospect.

Seems like an average athlete (especially speed wise) but his production at the HS level is impressive. (17 total int's, 4 pick 6's this year alone) High floor, low ceiling type player IMO.

Film isn't any worse than the JUCO kid. Think he will do just fine wherever he goes.

Roberts combines his lack of height with a lack of speed. That's a perfect recipe for UM to return to elite status in college football. Short corners who don't run that well are all the rage at the top 5 programs these days.

This is the str8 up facts but theseguys on here are parcells...... Peter Ariz DMoney what r ur opinions of nick roberts is he miami caliber?

Really want to see what they say

Problem on here is all these dudes are trying to suck up to UKnowWhat because he knows and likes Roberts.

UKnowWhat is a great guy, but if Roberts was so great with all the camps he's been to and being at a pretty high profile HS program he'd have a much better list of offers. There's something about him that is making all the marquee programs shy away even though they all know about him.

Like I said, it's not a science, so maybe he'll wind up a great player. I prefer to play the odds on stuff like this. And all the data says he's a C-USA player.

Where this lack of speed myth coming from? Timed a 4.54 at recent camp.....WTF are you talking about? Whats funny is his offers are just as good as more then half the players we have committed. Whatever you have to do to justify us taking his offer go ahead.. Mufuggas act like RIcht is this genius who doesnt makes mistakes with crooting... I personally think he is making a mistake... WE didnt even want Brian Edwards at corner we wanted him at safety who are these corners that we have that are so much better then him?

You're supposed to be a veteran and you believe that Nick Roberts has all those offers and won't be even visiting those places at all? He is so solid to USF with all those schools looking at him? That kid is a unique one if those offers are real.

He doesn't turn 18 till next summer and would be an EE. Kid has upside.

I fully believe that he was offered by cincinatti, Duke Memphis, Pitt... but that's not the point reallyLast year people really thought that redwine was a good cornerback... dude is not good. He should be moved to safety... las witnessed by malek young starting over him at the end of he year... not saying this dude is corn elder.... but look at our depth.... he is better then Henley. Mayes, Robert knowles right now.... we have only one true corner committed right now and that's bandy... I don't think he is a jag...

So you good with cluttering the roster with average Duke, Memphis, Pitt type talents. If the staff had recruited those guys I'd buy that line of thinking. They didn't. There is a chance that they're wrong with Roberts. Then again most of the Power 5 would be too.

Let's see...we had one true CB committed, all the big fish are gone, we have open roster spots, and it looks like we're already down to plan B's. Maybe I'm looking at this wrong but if he has skills and can contribute, it's better than having no one. It certainly won't prohibit us signing the "big fish" out there in 2018.

Everyone currently in play seems to have their warts. I don't know the kid but the question we should be asking is not how he compares against Patrick Peterson or Antrel Rolle but how he compares against our other options. We need to get one of them committed. The mistake here is to pull a Golden and wait until the last week and settle for a plan C.

I understand your concern, DO you think no player at Duke or Pitt could start for Miami?

If you can tell me some other CB croots that we are targeting that you like better im all ears bro

as of now Our returning corners are:

Maleek Young- (Potential )
Redwine- (Physical, Great tackler, trash *** cover guy, slow)
Henley-(shoud be at FAMU)
Mayes-(Should be at FIU)
Mike Jackson-(SHould be at Minnesota)

Im telling you right now he is a better cover corner prospect then everyone on that list not named Maleek young

If your gonna tell me were bringing in 3 corners better then Nick Roberts Ill be cool with not signing him
