2027 Nicholas "Nick" Lennear 4* WR/ATH from Northwestern

thats what iw as trying to tell him the school is more in line with the school he is talking about than a top 25 program like bosco and mater dei. i dont know inner city la other than dorsey and crenshaw...and i dont think Poly is inner city being in long beach.

Northwestern and Central are inline with schools like East St Louis, Oak Cliff (for my texas ppl?)
Idk where Poly is actually located in LB but they definitely get enough East & Northsiders to comprise a noticeable inner city population. Rell, I know you where Poly is. You also have your Lockes, Fremonts, Jordan, etc., but I don’t think any of those schools had programs as strong as the Dons & Cougars.

Dorsey and Crenshaw, definitely before the catholic schools started depleting their talent, reminded me of Central and the West. Right down to the colors…

what it has to do?.

South Florida hs coaches arent paid only 3 on the staff and no one makes more 5k a y ear.....now yall want them to be the groundskeepers as well?. (WHICH THEY DO ANYWAY!!) lol

What you see is the norm THROUGHOUT south florida read what the other posters are telling you then.

@Coach Macho you better bring that lawn mower n weed wacker to practice my boy.

I also stated that field likely was recently cut. You pass by there in the off szn u can see the weeds from the road. Its terrible for playing on right now n im on the same level of u int he thought process of it all. MNW has like 3 former nfl players on staff that i know of im sure they should know how a practice field should look....
Bro if I told people on here how badly in shape McArthur is right now they probably wouldn't believe me. 🤣

We need a lot more than a lawn mower.

WTF is a premiere HS program doing practicing on this type of field condition? I played at one of the worst HS in California in the late 90’s, & even we had better fields than this, & my school’s neighborhood was in the movie Boyz N The Hood! Like wtf, bro?
Just because they win games doesn't make them a premier "program".
I learned a while back that "team" and "program" are two completely different things. A good TEAM has talent and wins some games. A good PROGRAM is detailed and tight from top to bottom.

Most schools down here, even if they're winning, aren't great "programs". They simply don't have the resources to be.
Most of our practice fields look like this.

Miami Northwestern is located in Liberty City. The neighborhood is way worse than whatever took place in boyz n the hood lol

This is inner city south florida we are speaking on here..i actually think we cna count the high schools with their own stadium on one hand in miami dade. This is the same grass Taurean Charles tackled his coach on....the same field Nate Webster and Vern Caey practiced on some of the weeds are likely still growing....they aint got money for turf in liberty city.

Miami Central is no different...

this is why we laugh when the mater dei's and other souped up california teams claim victories were not on the same playing field...LITERALLLY. Pick the worst schools in inner city los angeles and thats the level of mnw and miami central. Like Crenshaw High may be an upgrade to those schools
When we (Deerfield Beach) flew up to DC to play St. Johns, a local high school allowed us to use their field for practice. This school was in the hood, in downtown. They had a brand new field with turf, brand new sleds, new concessions, beautiful concrete "bleachers", and the entire side of the school was glass so you could see the field from the cafeteria.

Even when I coached in Bradenton, the "hood" schools on the West coast had beautifully kept fields, turf, field houses, etc.

We have a bag or two in the shed by the track. Those the bags i used when i played in like 02.

Atleast we have a practice field and a nice stadium. lol

hey i was just tryna tell @Rellyrell.

I'd say maybe STA AND AH are legit down here as far as facilities and grass/turf etc. And they are private schools. I heard Archbishop Mcarthy is building an indoor facility i dont know what for but they have that going for them.

Make due with less...again this is why some south florida kids have untapped potential when they hit college. Because when they hit college everything is like heaven to them from that they came from.

Ill see u soon on that practice field finally freed up now ab it.

@Coach Macho You think at some point 1 school will pull the trigger on at least a turf complex and that could start the domino's? (Public Schools).

Here in Savannah we basically have supersites popping up every few years. But we also only have a handful of high schools. But another one is opening next year so that will be the 5th or 6th turf field/complex that will be shared by just a handful of high schools. Not to mention almost all the private schools have turf too.

Dunbar HS in DC?
I've driven by the school when driving in/out DC and thought to myself this isn't what a "hood" school should look like....lol

But DC public school athletics had their share of issues during early 2000s. One year they could not play football because the DC public schools had not paid insurance policy for athletics. I think that was eventually dealt with in the fall of that year.

Anyways, how did the game vs St Johns turn out?

That's most public school fields in South Florida brother.
At Western we didn't even have a practice field.
That's a shame, man. Do you know how much a decent field is? It can't be that much, can it? It's disappointing that given how vital football is to the community that monies can't be allotted for decent practice fields.

Yes that's it! Dunbar!
I was blown away.

No clue... but this will be my 18th year coaching and this spring (at McArthur) is the first time that I've been at a school that has an actual "practice" field for football

Usually the only choice is to use the game field and tear it up, or get some football lines painted on the baseball field. In the event that you can't use the baseball field, you find any patch of grass that's large enough. (you really don't need a full 100 yards for practice)
At Western we had to share a field with the ROTC program during November. (playoffs)

If a school has turf then it's no big deal. You can practice on the game field. We actually had money raised to build a turf field but the county wouldn't let us. They said it would be unfair.
The same county that thinks it's fair to put private schools in the same playoff brackets as low funded public schools. 🤣

From a body control catching presence this kid should be a priority next class. He's skinny as all **** but he is Jacolby George without the penalties lol

So. Fla. mane. And they ain’t the only high school there that’s practicing on a field that looks like that, fr fr. Some of the game fields don’t look too much better. I mean grass is usually cut, and they have visible lines…, but yea. Not ideal, at all. Some of the middle schools here in GA, have better looking fields than what some of the best athletes in the nation in So. Fla., are playing and practicing on.

I can’t remember what World Cup it was but the US men’s national team didn’t qualify.
Now mind you, in order to qualify for the World Cup you have to play against multiple teams in your region.
The US region is mostly Central America and the Caribbean.
It’s considered the easiest road to the World Cup.
The US had to play Trinidad and Tobago as a sort of wild card game/win or go home. The field over there was horrible and some parts had standing water. The players and coaches were publicly complaining.
The track around the field was flooded and some of the players were being piggy backed on to the field by staff members. The media and even former players torched the US team for complaining like btchs. Grown ahss men being carried so their feet don’t get wet. Sad AF!
A huge portion of of the world grows up playing on dirt and concrete. Luxury makes players soft. Yes we don’t want them injured. But those fields build character.
A lot of professional clubs in South America have practice fields that don’t look anything like the stadium fields.
