Nicholas Lennear sets personal record in 100 meters

CIS speed-tards showing their absolute ignorance when it comes to track speed versus football speed.

I see baby Jesus running away from people all season, but he’s not fast enough, right?

Lennear can be coached to a ~ 10.6 by just improving his 100m technique, but in all reality who gives a ****.

He’s already fast enough for the football field, again speed tards - it’s called football speed. Dude is fast on the field and that’s all I care about.
Bruh I slept on Toney bruh I had no clue he was going to be that good at that size at wr (pause)
I questioned his speed but twitch and quickness was elite, still crazy to me. I would of cared about his recruitment a lot more but I thought to myself typical CIS hyping up a sfla dude. Loved that I was wrong asf, he made me change the way I look at the game period.

Speed-tard is the perfect description for those posters that have a conniption based on an abstract reported number on their computer screen. Watch the kid play. He's regularly pulling away from fast players.

Do you know any scouts or high level football coaches? Alot of them do. It's not the end all be all like some of you are trying to perpetuate but it's certainly a factor.

Speed is a factor into any football players game rather you guys wanna admit it or not. Why do you think they run the 40 for? rather it's the 40, 100, 200 those numbers factor into a players overall game.

Just 2 days ago you said this kid was slow and would be a bust in college because of it. It was a terrible take then and only took the weekend to age horribly

His "speed" didn't change in 2 days. Anyone with eyeballs and even a basic understanding of South Florida football could see Lennear was fast regardless of track times.

All this time does is show he'd probably be a 10.4-10.5 guy with proper track training and experience

It’s no big deal that he thinks he can’t pull away from d1 college players which is totally different from HS. It’s ok that he has that take, most just disagree with that take. But it’s a fair take, that’s how he sees it. We just think he’s wrong on this one. If he said others we recruited in the past or others we let slip through to other schools were slow, I would agree. I said that about Chance Robinson and others, and sometimes we either right or wrong. Let’s hope he’s wrong.

The only person here showing their ignorance is you. First off nobody is talking about toney he's already proven he can play here. rather his game translates to the next level remain to be seen but thats another topic for another day

Some guys play faster due to football IQ, short area quickness, feet etc. Any great player has a speed element to their game some can utilize shier speed better cause they understand the game better IE reading coverages from a wr stand point, understand what a DB is trying to do, individual player nuances etc etc

LMAO @ lennear can be coached to a 10.6. Dumb *** comment. He has to have 10.6 talent first. Remains to be seen if he does and if he does the coaching plays little part. He'll figure out what works for him.

Again track speed does matter cause but if this guy a true 24 200m guy/ 11.8 100m guy he would be useless here no matter what novice fan like you thinks his "football" speed is.

on the flip side, you can have 21.1 200m speed like Akeem Jolla but you have trash football IQ, dont understand route concpets, no short area quickness, cant get out of your breaks fast enough etc etc then its useless. Terrel Walden another example. Fast as **** but dumb af football IQ and intangibles. Speed became useless

This take is wrong on so many levels.

But I'll just highlight saying a slow track times WR is useless. We just had a 4.8 WR be an All-American.

Track times depend on technique and training so much. If u running low 11s with not much track experience, u r plenty fast. Running low 11s is actually fine as a junior, it’s not blazing but we are talking about football here. Change of direction and elusiveness matter a lot more on the field than in track.

You still need track/speed talent. I dont give a dam what your "technique" is or how much you train if you're slow you're slow thats it. Otherwise every body would be popping 10.6's if you could "coach" it.

Imagine seeing a guy absolutely fly past defenders, and then having the audacity to say 'he’s not fast' because of a 10.77 100-meter time. Do you want him to run a 9.9 while carrying a linebacker, or are you just trying to sound smart while being entirely wrong? Stop looking at track times watch the actual game tape.

For the record, I don’t care about his track speed but dude you’re showing your ignorance.

He ran a 10.77 (wind aided) with little track experience or coaching. If you don’t think somebody like that can be coached on technique down to a 10.6, somebody who has run very little track, you’re just showing your ignorance. In fact, this may even be his first year running track in any organized fashion. I don’t see any times before 2026. Start/block technique alone, can shave tenths of a second, or more, off the hundred meter time. Again your ignorance shows. Again, not that it matters because I only care about football speed.
