NFL LB prospects for 2019 . . . no shaq, no Pinckney?

I think we've been slightly overrating Shaqs draft prospects. He didn't have a bad year, but It certainly could have been much better judging by his frosh season. I think right now he's at like a 2nd/3rd level. obviously has the talent to be a 1st rounder. We'll see how this season goes.

I would be thrilled if Quarterman stayed his SR year.

He’s actually been on several of these listand recently was just named as the #14 overall player in football according to SI

Our LBs need to demonstrate some ability to cover the passing game before they take the step to elite. While they set high standards,, go back and watch Morgan and Vilma in college to see how disruptive they can be.

Love reading these Pre-Season lists but I don't worry too much about their opinions.

Quarteman controls his own future by what he will do on the field and its certainly within his abilities to be a national LB stand out this year.

Still having said that, he is definitely one star underclassman who will be very hard to replace ....so I hope he returns

As would I but I get the feel that this is his last season in Coral Gables. No Sauces, just a gut feel that he's going to be ready for the league after this season.

I think Pinckney leaves early regardless, can see shaq staying but then again I can See him leaving. If I’m projected as a top 50 pick or so I’m leaving regardless

I think Shaq is going to stay all four years (which would be a coup for our program) but If he declares early I don’t doubt for a second he comes back to finish his degree.

Lol Shaq is a first rounder. That list didn’t include juniors I think. Doesn’t matter... he’s leaving early BECAUSE he’s earned the right with a first round NFL grade. He will be missed. Great football player and better person. We are blessed to have him for one last season. Pinckney will also leave. We can say exactly the same things about his character. I’m not sure if he’s a first rounder, but he’s dam close. Wonderful group of young men.

CBS Sports has become a junky aggregation site and Chris Trapasso is a nobody with worthless opinions.

Let's wait for these underclassmen to prove it consistently on the field before whining about their draft media rankings. Right now these mock drafts and rankings are total projections unless you're Ed Oliver who should've been in the NFL last year. Dexter Lawrence had 2.5 sacks last year and he's a consensus top 5 projected pick. That's a good indicator to ignore this stuff.

I agree with your evaluation of these guys’ character and how much they’ve meant to the program.

However, you’re fkn high if you think they’re 1st rounders in the NFL draft.

Shaq stays all 4 years, but Pinckney is gone for sure after this year. I just don’t get the vibe that Pinckney is there for his degree. He will probably be picked around the 3rd rd if I had to guess.

Shaq will be a 4th or 5th rounder. Good college player but not explosiveness or fast enough to be a first rounder, because I think he’s too heavy.

I don’t think he “drops” that far.

I’m curious to see how he’ll test.

Not sure if he ran the 40 this spring....but if he did, his time wasn’t faster than 4.75 (based on the rankings I saw).

Might be tough to get in the first round with a time in the 4.8 range....even if your film is phenomenal.

Have there even been any first round MLBs with times slower than 4.75?

I'm not sure I'd blame the players on that one.
