-The only consensus 5* player on the Canes roster last year, was the first Cane selected in the draft. (No, I'm not a star *****, but I found that interesting.) Congrats to Chad, funny person if you ever get to meet him.

-Braxton Berrios getting drafted by the Patriots after many posters joked that he would. Guess the Wes Welker / Julian Edelman comparisons are a little more valid now?
-Miami was 2nd in the ACC (tied with FSU) in players drafted (6).

-First time Miami had 3+ Defensive Lineman selected in a draft since 2003 when we had 5 taken.

-All though true JR NT Kendrick Norton got selected in the 7th round, he's better off than Trenton Thompson, who became the first #1 overall recruit to go undrafted.

-At one point in 2016, an FSU writer claimed Ryan Izzo would start at Miami (over David Njoku and Chris Herndon), and continued these claims as Miami writers fired back saying he would be 3rd string at best. Miami - 2, FSU - 0

-A 6'8, 345 lb rugby player that never played football, got drafted as an Offensive Tackle.

-A linebacker tackling machine who drew early comparisons to Luke Kuechly didn't get drafted until round 5 (Micah Kaiser)

-2 brothers got selected in the first round for the first time in NFL history. (Edmunds brothers of VT)

-Not a knock to Walton, but who expected him to get drafted before Bo Scarborough back in 2014?
-Speaking of running backs, the 2014 class for RB's was pretty good. Of the top 6 RB's for that year, 5 got drafted in the top 50 overall picks.

Players that had a good year or 2 in college but surprisingly went undrafted:
-JC Jackson who many thought would've made a great addition here.
-Josh Adams, who was in the Heisman race before playing us
-Kevin Tolliver who was a top 10 player, #2 rated CB, and got coached by Corey Raymond

Lol:
-5 star, undrafted free agent and seminole great Matthew Thomas
-5 star, lock down cornerback and seminole great Tavarus McFadden

even at low ebbs, Miami is still a consistent producer of quality NFL talent. That's what makes things frustrating in a sense that there should have been more real success recently

JC Jackson and Kevin Tolliver had draftable tape or physical attributes but also had character concerns. Many NFL teams don't mess around with that stuff anymore unless you are elite. Look at Guice and Key.

Lots of kids from unknown schools getting drafted because accessibility to tape is much more easier nowadays. Thats why I think less guys with character concerns are being taken as well as fringe guys. The talent pool is getting bigger and bigger.
