Next year's O-Line

LT - Hillary or Herbert
LG - Gauthier
C - Gaynor
RG - Donaldson
RT - St Louis
 
We’re not moving Gauthier from a position he’s doing really well at. Gaynor would play OG before Gauthier would. LT worries me next season. Keep Donaldson at OG unless he loses about 25lbs. Quicker DTs have exposed him at times this year. Would hate to see what an edge rusher would do.

Donaldson to RT

Herbert is the first OT off the bench, and he takes over as the LT in 2019.

Need to see Donaldson shed some more weight before he becomes a LT. hopefully Herbert or Hillery can take over at tackle and we can’t leave Donaldson at G where he could be dominant.

Gauthier was real good at LG last year and Gaynor is better at C in my opinion

Yeah more likely to Move St Louis over there. That boy is as steady as it comes. I think one of the incoming tackles may play as well. I think we should keep Donaldson inside. When he plays we are good at running the ball. He will have to get in better shape in the offseason no doubt.

In the end Richt and Searels will mix and match until they find the right combo.

Hillary and Gaynor are rotated off the bench and then the following year Herbert goes to LT, Hillary to RT, and Gaynor replaces Gauthier

Donaldson is supposedly moving to tackle if he can get down to the weight the staff wants him.
 
St Louis moves to LT
Gauthier stays at C
Donaldson to LG or RT

The next two may determine Donaldson's spot.

If Hillary/Herbert are in the top 5, Donaldson to LG. Otherwise, Donaldson to RT with Gaynor/Mahoney/Reed/Scaife inside. There will be a drop off in experience but we started this year with 2 open positions that have been filled by Donaldson, Gaynor, Mahoney. We will have two open positions coming into next year with even more options.
 
Herbert was a big late flip for us. I'm curious to see how he develops. Donaldson was an EE, so this would be his second full offseason, I think he will play LT next year. A lot of these guys are really starting to develop, and with what looks like at the least a new years 6 and acc title game, those extra practices will go a very long way for the underclassmen.
 
To me it all hinges on the readiness of Herbert to move into the LT position. I personally would like to see Donaldson and St. Louis stay where they are, but if needed to protect Malik I would trust St. Louis at LT. Donaldson adds a mauler up the middle which we lack, and as has been mentioned before he is a step slow at that weight. No matter who is there we need to see a good level of improvement especially at LG and C; we still suck *** on the goal line. Having a FB and a 2nd TE will help of course.

What I would like to see:

LT: Herbert
LG: Gaynor
C: Gauthier
RG: Donaldson
RT: St. Louis
