What are the realistic expectations for next year? Is it playoffs or bust?

Are we content with another 10/11 win type season?

Had this debate with friends so wanted other Canes opinions

I'd say win the ACC or bust. That should mean playoffs too but playoffs have other variables that are not under our control.

Gotta give MR time to get his recruits in place. I feel it will be 2019 before we reach the playoffs.
 
Beat FSU, win the Coastal, play Clemson in ACC title game see what happens.

Schedule little tougher next season.
 
2019 is the year. 2018 has to many unknowns for me to say "It's this or bust". Win the coastal and win a good bowl game, I will be satisfied. No more losing streaks.

Clemson is on a Bama-type roll right now. Ideally we should play Clemson competitively with a chance to win. I'd be happy if we proved that we can stay on the field with them. That would show tremendous progress.
 
The floor for me is not losing to teams like Pitt or 4-8 ND....

10-3 like this year would be a fail for me.

True, I should have said go to the ACC championship and not have any regrets about how we play that game. If clemson beats us playing our best then so be it.
 
From here on out, 10 win seasons and coastal championships are the floor. Any other result, regardless of the reason, would be an utter failure.

as long as south florida puts out talent like it does, this year should be the floor!!! We get slightly above average qb play we deeper in the play-off discussion because we go into the ACC championship game undefeated. Next year with the talent we have coming in, what!!! We only lose like 10 players off this team. We return studs all over the field and the guys we have coming in, really!!!
 
Development of a QB, OL, and a much improved offense.

ACC Championship game appearance. Still not sure we can beat Clemson but let's see what happens.

It starts with beating LSU and FSU next season. Win the coastal and beat Clemson in the ACC championship game. That's what I'm expecting. Nothing less
 
Win the coastal. Schedule is much more difficult next year and qb is a giant question mark
 
We'll likely have a starting QB who has never taken a snap in anything but a high school game. Not optimum.

Yet both guys are more talented than Rosier. Stop with the excuses. Look around college football. Freshman QB win all the time
